ALL OF OUR MUSIC TOURS INCLUDE: • The very best opera and classical music around the world: The staff at Hayllar Music Tours have many years of experience working with arts organisations in Australia, Asia, the USA and Europe. As such, we are always able to plan our tours perfectly to include the finest musical experiences, from intimate solo recitals to large-scale opera productions. • Introductory talks from our expert Tour Leaders about the music included on your tour: Hayllar Music Tours arranges expert Tour Leaders to travel with the group on all of our tours. Throughout the tour our Tour Leaders will present talks and discussions ahead of each performance to enrich your listening pleasure of the music being performed. • A maximum number of 20 people on all of our tours: We believe that a smaller group contributes to making the whole experience more relaxed, more personal and more enjoyable. Many of our guests finish their tour having made great friends, and go on to travel on future tours together. • A dedicated Hayllar Music Tours consultant: We have a small but passionate team here at Hayllar Music Tours, and rather than dealing with a different person every time you call, you will deal with the same person from the moment you enquire about a tour to the day of your departure. Should you have any questions whilst on the tour, we send a dedicated Tour Manager on all of our tours as well as our expert Tour Leaders to ensure everything runs perfectly. • Carefully selected hotels: Every hotel on our tours has been personally visited and assessed by a Hayllar Music Tours staff member. They have been selected not just for their comfort but for their charm, atmosphere and location. Their convenience and, with many, the natural beauty of their location, are key factors. • The finest food: A crucial element in the appreciation and enjoyment of any tour is the food and, in addition to ensuring that you have a delicious breakfast at your hotel every morning, Hayllar Music Tours takes you to personally selected restaurants which feature excellent local cuisine and beverages which contribute to your knowledge and appreciation of each location. • Guided tours, exclusive access and walking tours: While the focus of each tour is on the performances, the additional activities are carefully planned to incorporate a variety of visits to art galleries, museums, architectural wonders and cultural hotspots. These tours, often led by expert tour guides, allow our guests to experience the finest art, architecture and history each region has to offer.

ITINERARY DAY 1 | THURS 22 NOVEMBER 2018 1/5 NIGHTS AT PARKLANDS RESORT AIRPORT AND CENTRAL STATION, SYDNEY, TO MUDGEE: Guests are collected by private air-conditioned coach. The coach will make one stop at Sydney Domestic Airport and one stop at Central Station in Sydney. Our coach journey follows the route of the first crossing of the Blue Mountains, made in the search for more pasture lands for the new colony. Our first stop is Blackheath at the summit of the mountains, where we visit Govetts Leap Lookout for the spectacular panoramic views across the Grose Valley. We travel from Blackheath on a short drive into the beautiful Megalong Valley for a delicious lunch at the Megalong Valley Tearooms. Our next stop is Eskbank House, an important part of the history of Lithgow and the region. Lithgow was associated with the construction of the road and railway over the Blue Mountains, and Thomas Brown of Eskbank House contributed to the industrialisation of the region.

We then travel to Mudgee and to our hotel, the Parklands Resort, set on 30 acres of land and located just 1km from the centre of Mudgee. The evening is free. DAY 2 | FRI 23 NOVEMBER 2018 2/5 NIGHTS AT PARKLANDS RESORT FULL DAY IN MUDGEE AT THE HUNTINGTON ESTATE MUSIC FESTIVAL: We start today with an early morning walk through the Huntington Estate vineyards, discovering the secrets of the variety of grapes grown at this award-winning winery. Afterwards we have a private breakfast in the Huntington Estate grounds. We return to the hotel to freshen up and then attend a full day at the festival. We attend the morning concert in the Barrel Room, a space with a unique atmosphere described by Richard Tognetti as having, "one of the greatest acoustics on the planet". We will enjoy interval refreshments, and then lunch in the Estate grounds following the concert. After lunch we experience a private wine tasting of Huntington Estate’s finest offerings. In the afternoon we will visit the Town Centre of Mudgee where we

will have time to admire the charming colonial buildings and to browse in the interesting range of shops and cafés. In the early evening, we return to the Huntington Estate for a preconcert selection of wine and canapés and an In Conversation with Festival Artistic Director Carl Vine and featured artists, following which we attend the evening’s concert. Following the concert we have dinner in the estate grounds, complete with a selection of Huntington Estate wines. After dinner our private coach will return us to the hotel. DAY 3 | SAT 24 NOVEMBER 2018 3/5 NIGHTS AT PARKLANDS RESORT FULL DAY IN MUDGEE AT THE HUNTINGTON ESTATE MUSIC FESTIVAL: Today we enjoy a full day at the Huntington Estate Music Festival (morning and evening concert). The morning concert includes interval refreshments and is followed

by lunch. The evening concert is preceded by a choice of canapés and wines and the In Conversation with Festival Artistic Director Carl Vine and featured artists, with the full wine service continuing through the concert interval and afterwards with dinner. In the afternoon between concerts we visit some other notable wineries in the region to enjoy some further wine tasting. DAY 4 | SUN 25 NOVEMBER 2018 4/5 NIGHTS AT PARKLANDS RESORT HUNTINGTON ESTATE MUSIC FESTIVAL, GULGONG AND EURUNDEREE: In the morning we attend the final farewell concert of the 2018 Huntington Estate Music Festival, followed by lunch. In the afternoon we explore the attractions of Gulgong and nearby Eurunderee focusing particularly on the area’s connections to the writer and poet, Henry Lawson (1867-1922).

In Gulgong we visit the awardwinning Gulgong Pioneers Museum, with its outstanding collection of Australiana, particularly including items dating from Gulgong’s Gold Rush period in the 1870’s. Next we have a guided tour of the Prince of Wales Opera House, a quaint piece of Australian performance history. Built in 1871, it is the oldest still-operating Opera House in the Southern Hemisphere. We then travel to Eurunderee where we visit the school Henry Lawson attended when he was 9-years old. Lawson wrote about the school in his poem, The Old Bark School. Following our visit, we return by private coach to Parklands Resort. The evening is free. DAY 5 | MON 26 NOVEMBER 2018 5/5 NIGHTS AT PARKLANDS RESORT HILL END AND SOFALA: In the morning we travel to Hill End and Sofala, two towns closely connected to the first Australian gold-rush. Edward Hargreaves’ find near Bathurst, the first publicly acknowledged discovery of gold in the colony, was proclaimed on 14 May 1851 and in a few days there were 100 diggers in the area hoping to make their fortune. By June over 2000 people were digging around Bathurst, and thousands more were on their way. Hill End, our first stop, was the centre of a productive gold field and at its peak in the early 1870's it had a population of about 8,000. In 1945 the population was 700, by 2006 it was 166, and in 2017 the town has only 80

residents. Time is allowed at Hill End for lunch. Our next stop is Sofala, with its picturesque colonial buildings and rugged mountain backdrop, developed in the 1850's with the discovery of gold on the Turon River. At its peak Sofala stretched for 16km along the valley and there were 40 licensed hotels, general stores and business premises in the town and 10,000 miners. By 1855 most people had left and Sofala is now a sleepy village with only three streets. Following our visit to Sofala we return to Mudgee and gather for a farewell BBQ in the beautiful grounds of our hotel. DAY 6 | TUES 27 NOVEMBER 2018 MUDGEE TO CENTRAL STATION AND AIRPORT, SYDNEY: On our scenic return journey to Sydney we stop in Faulconbridge on the eastern slopes of the Blue Mountains. There we have a guided tour of the Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum. Run by the National Trust, the sandstone cottage and landscaped grounds are where Norman Lindsay (1879-1969), artist, cartoonist, and writer lived and worked. Afterwards we have lunch at Lindsay's Cafe. Following our visit we return in our private coach to Sydney where our tour ends. Our coach will make one stop at Central Station in Sydney and one stop at Sydney’s Domestic Airport. Please note: There may be some changes to the itinerary depending on the final confirmation of performances.

On arrival we have a private guided walking tour of central Mantua to help us to understand and enjoy its history, architecture and artistic legacy. We proceed to

If you cancel your booking in a double/twin room but are travelling with a companion who chooses to continue to participate on the tour, the companion will be liable to pay the single supplement.

FORCE MAJEURE: If during the tour there is a Force Majeure event which results in services or facilities for a tour becoming unavailable and no alternative arrangement of similar monetary value is available, Hayllar Music Tours will substitute the best alternative available and will refund you for any savings made, or charge you for any additional costs incurred. ‘Force majeure’ includes any event which Hayllar Music Tours or its suppliers and providers could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid (such as advice against travel from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, epidemics, health risks, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, technical or maintenance problems with transport, changes imposed by cancellation or rescheduling of flights by an airline.) ITINERARY CHANGES: Circumstances beyond the control of Hayllar Music Tours may occasionally make it necessary to change hotel(s) or to make minor amendments to daily itineraries. We will inform you of any changes as soon as they have been confirmed to us and you can rest assured that we will do our best to ensure that any change only adds to your tour experience in a positive way. PROGRAMME AND ARTIST CHANGES: Circumstances beyond the control of Hayllar Music Tours may mean that occasionally concert programmes and artists change after tickets have been purchased. We will inform you of any changes as soon as they have been confirmed to us and note that Hayllar Music Tours will not accept any cancellations from tour participants on this basis. ALTERATION OF PERSONAL RESERVATIONS: If you wish to alter any of your personal reservations after we have confirmed your booking, we will do our best to satisfy your requirements but an administration fee may be applied in addition to any direct costs involved. You are also responsible for obtaining all necessary visas, inoculations and preventative medicines as may be required for the tour (unless specifically stated). Hayllar Music Tours will endeavour to provide you with information on passport and visa requirements. This information is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of Hayllar Music Tours. TRAVEL INSURANCE: You must have comprehensive travel insurance to participate in an international tour with Hayllar Music Tours. Hayllar Music Tours can organise your travel insurance for you, or you can choose to take out your own travel insurance with a provider of your choice. We advise all tour participants to carefully check the conditions of their travel insurance, especially in regard to pre-departure cancellation, coverage of pre-existing medical conditions, the excess for any claim and the maximum amounts paid for specific situations. If you do not provide evidence of such insurance from your insurer or arrange such insurance through us no later than five days before the due date for your final payment for a tour, your tour booking will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited. LEVEL OF FITNESS AND PARTICIPATION REQUIRED FOR A TOUR: Most of our tours require a grade of fitness commensurate with Level One below. However, certain tours will require a Level Two grade of fitness. If you (or we) have any doubts about your level of fitness, you may be required to have a doctor’s appraisal. This would require your doctor to read the itinerary, including the fitness level, and provide you (and us) with a written confirmation of your ability to participate. LEVEL ONE: For the benefit of the group, all members of the tour must have the ability to: • Negotiate airports and railway stations without wheelchair assistance; • Use combined shower/bath facilities; • Undertake walking tours of one-two hours duration, including using stairs and walking on uneven ground; • Stand for long periods in museum, art galleries etc.; • Embark/disembark coaches, trains and other methods of transportation without assistance; • Handle your own luggage.

CANCELLATION OF A TOUR: Hayllar Music Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour at its discretion. If it does so, you will get a refund of all monies paid for your tour. Even though budgets for most tours are calculated on a group size of 8 to 20 people, we will attempt to ensure that all tours depart, regardless of numbers. We reserve the right to cancel the further participation on a tour of any person whose behaviour is in the opinion of a representative of Hayllar Music Tours causing distress, damage or annoyance to other participants on the tour. Our responsibility for that person will cease immediately upon notification of such cancellation and no compensation will be paid for any loss.

ELIGIBILITY: Hayllar Music Tours reserves the right to refuse to accept a booking without necessarily giving a reason.

CHANGES TO A TOUR PRICE: Once Hayllar Music Tours has received your final payment for a tour, all prices will be fixed. Hayllar Music Tours will do its best to ensure that your tour price does not change before receipt of your final payment. However, prices quoted in our tour information are based on exchange rates, cost of goods and services and applicable taxes at the time of publication and budgeted number of tour participants. In the event of a change in any of these factors or if there is a mistake in the advertised tour price or for any other reason, Hayllar Music Tours reserves the right to amend the advertised price for a tour up until final payment is received from you. If this occurs, you will be given as much notice as possible of the new price, as well as the option of cancelling your tour booking and receiving a full refund.

ILLNESS OR DISABILITY: If you are suffering from illness or disability or undergoing treatment for any physical or medical condition you must disclose the true nature of the condition at the time of booking and make provisions for any medication or other treatment which may be required during the tour. Failure to make such a disclosure will constitute a breach of these booking terms and conditions and will result in you being excluded from the tour, in which case all monies paid will be forfeited. LOCAL LAWS: All participants of the tours operated by Hayllar Music Tours are expected to obey the laws and regulations of the countries visited and any failure to do so will relieve Hayllar Music Tours of all obligations that we may otherwise have under these booking terms and conditions.
