Summer Fun + Summer Service Make this your best summer! In this issue! LTG letter ...................... 1
Hi, Division 39N! I’ve decided to start a club highlights page! On our Club Highlights page, I will show a club whose service project or idea goes above and beyond. This month, Denton High School is highlighted by their Tree Project. I would love to hear about what is going on in your clubs and maybe put you in the Club Highlights for the next newsletter! The question of this newsletter: What are you doing this summer? Some people are going on vacation; others are staying at home. Either way, you can still get your club together for a fundraiser or service project! This summer let’s focus on Eliminate, our Major Emphasis program. Eliminate is the emphasis for the Kiwanis family to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Fundraising for Eliminate can be done by a car wash, a bake sale, asking for donations, etc. I will be spending most of my summer in Pittsburgh taking college courses at Carnegie Mellon. I still need you all to check in with me and keep me updated on your clubs. I would love to Skype with Club Presidents at least once every two weeks while I am gone. Before I leave, we need to have at least one Presidential Council Meeting. Would June 20th work for everybody? I need replies from every president and at least one officer from every club to join me. Please send me an email.

Last summer, I went on conservation to Costa Rica. It was tough, but so worth the experience.

Denton High School: Tree Project The Denton High School Key Club has been maintaining the area around this large tree for a couple years now. They clean up, plant flowers, and make the area look nicer. I actually drive by this plot every day and I have definitely noticed a change in the area! Great job, DHS!!!

Sam Houston High School Key Club was the first Key Club to turn their April monthly report in out of all of the clubs in Texas and Oklahoma!!! Great job!
What is the Eliminate Project? The Eliminate Project aims to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, a disease that kills mothers and children every minute. If we raise $110 million by 2015, we can eliminate a disease that should have been destroyed years ago. How can I help? You can help by fundraising for the project and then donating the money. You can have a car wash, a bake sale, or any other fundraising event. How does this project involve me? The Kiwanis family, the family of Key Club International started this project in 2010. Also, it’s the Division 39N summer project! We need at least every club to hold one fundraiser this summer. Need help fundraising or just want to invite me along for the ride? I’m happy to join you
