Great English Outdoors

A hub activity during the Festival, where you’ll catch those sold-out events relayed live from the Barclays Pavilion on screen. The café is open early from your first shot of coffee through to the call for last orders. Join your friends or make new ones here.

The Great English Outdoors is back on site with an exhibition Textile Connections: African & Welsh Textiles. We will be selling old Welsh blankets, textiles, handmade leather products and useful but beautiful objects for the house and garden. EXHIBITORS Art Meets Matter Award-winning design company Art Meets Matter is thrilled to be back at the Hay Festival for its seventh year running. This year we’ll be featuring our classic products based on Penguin paperbacks as well as a fantastic range of other designs. Hay visitors will also be the first to get their hands on our brand new items created in collaboration with Time Out.

The Olmec Head We are deeply grateful to the Mexican Embassy in London and the Government of Vera Cruz for the gift of this contemporary artisan version of the Ancient Olmec scuplture, to sit on the festival site as a treasured gift from the people of Xalapa, the home of our Mexican festival.
