“Teaching in the Sixth Form is outstanding” Ofsted
Why Hayesfield Sixth Form is a vibrant, active co-educational community of approximately 250 students, with increasing numbers joining us from other schools and further afield. The common themes to life in the Sixth Form are: high aspirations and high achievement, along with perseverance. Our Sixth Form is celebrated for its standards of academic excellence and we have high expectations of our students; they, in turn, learn to have high expectations of themselves. The diversity of courses means we can support a wide range of ambitions and talents. This allows students to speak positively of their experience. ‘All, including boys and girls, who have entered the school in the sixth form, speak warmly about the opportunities it offers and the high quality of education they receive.’ Ofsted Our academic success is only part of what makes our Sixth Form truly enriching.
Students have access to many opportunities afforded by our partnerships; students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities, promote personal development and a growing self confidence. Sixth Form life is very demanding, hence we offer strong pastoral support to ensure that all students reach their potential in all aspects of their life at Hayesfield. Our expectation is that students will leave Hayesfield with excellent academic qualifications, confident, well rounded and ready to face the challenges of University life and a demanding career. We were delighted that our recent Ofsted inspection identified Hayesfield as an Outstanding school with the inspectors commending the school for its outstanding teaching, excellent curriculum and care, guidance and support.
