Ingle Farm Under 18's Round 2 Ingle Farm versus Hope Valley 2 May 2010 @ Hope Valley Oval
Hope Vally had a few key playesr out. I felt we were going to be very compe<<ve which proved correct. That along with the majority of the team li?ing in intensity and skill level. I was very pleased with the way the leaders contributed on the day. Our depth in Ruck was tested as was our defensive last line. They did a very good job though. A few passages of play where we were very loose as HV went forward cost us as did some loose goal kicking. Overall the team was very good. Our voice MUST li? around contests if we are to take the final steps of totally dicta<ng the terms of play to our opposi<on. A number of <mes we needed to take the ball backward in order to aGack the goal face, but we decided to bust a pack or kick along the boundary with a wild banana kick. This allowed the opposi<on the chance to rebound and hurt us. One to work on this week.

I felt that the team was well seGled this week with a few player ini<ated moves proving <mely. i.e. Ben Smart's self move onto the ball. Did leave a few players on the bench this week for longer than I would have liked. Instruc<on this week on voice and first gives to advantage are required. Solid Game from Jake this week. Followed the instruc<ons well. Made the ball the central object of his focus and tried to carry it when he gained posession. Some hard body work. Keep it up. Didn’t get the game <me probably deserved. Did present well and looked to have improved significantly in confidence from last week. Looked solid up forward and more balanced. Keep up the training and running. Suggest carry a ball with you when you can and prac<ce your kicking. DNP Much more solid game from Josh this week. Played the HFF well. Controlled the area well when presented the opportunity. Really look to work on your voice and support around contested ball. Keep it up. DNP Another solid game from you Dylan. Moves and delivers well and presents well in contested situa<ons. Time to start working on your first gives and looking at alterna<ves around a contest. You were caught a few <mes in <ght situa<ons. Using your voice to your advantage will pay dividends if you can become louder and demand the ball. DNP Another good game from you. You moved into clearance posi<ons welkl during the game. I like the way you carried the ball when you gained posession. Keep this up it’s a valuable asset in the back half. Now <me to look at your delivery out of the back half. Li? your eyes and look for the wide target in Joe of Blake. A good honest game from you Ben. Your contribu<on when the ball came forward was very evident. You take the best defender and demand to be taken seriously. Your 2goal 4 point return needs work. Take every opportunity to prac<ce your set shots. Seek out an A grade player who can deliver on a set shot and ask them to cri<que you. Very solid Liam. I appreciate that you had shin soreness. You played a solid and accounatble game at full back. Well done. I'd like you to take <me oout and get some kicking instruc<on. See me at training. Again you demonstrated the solid and well rounded skills that contributes so well to our team. You displayed a courageousness that is to be admired with a slight frame like you have. Keep working hard on your endurance fitness. This game demonstrated the pedigree you have. You broke the game a part for us in the mid sec<on of the game. I welcome your onfield tac<cal calls and will back you in every <me. Keep working on your endurance fitness. A break out game in Ruck. You’re a true workhorse who will give all for your team even when hurt and injured. Carefull on your contested disposal once again and ensure that when you are on the ball you work to each contest. Your lacking in endurance fitness which needs aGen<on and hard work. Dont let that be your achilles heal. You had a solid game this week. Your hands were not as sure as I believe you can be. Keep doing all the natural things that make you the leader you are. Your team mates trust you and your skills. You need to do the same. If you want a spell in the middle to get more touch, lets discuss a rota<on with Ben or Boney.
Simply WOW. A large contribu<on to you this week Joe. You’re a smooth and confident mover with a good leg and hands. Whilst your physical presence will take <me, your ability to creat space and punish the opposi<on, is very good. Keep that level of self belief up. A 6 foot in a 4 foots body someone said. An amazing contribu<on from a small player. Your crea<veness in a contest and ability to evade the big guys is very good. Your 2 goals really broke the game open. Well done and keep that level of intensity up! A solid game this week. As a defender I'd like you to work with the Full Back to close up the space for the opposi<on forward. Or bring the onballers into the defensive line. See me at training and I will explain. Keep it up. Again this week you presented very well in the forward pocket and drew your defender. I like your ability to read the ball flight and win the majority of your contested ball. This creates doubt in the defenders mind and takes his focus to you. Work on the quick movement once you have posession into the forward line, par<cularlly Ben Smith. A very good game this week. While you have self doubt about that, your team mates presented and gave a significantly higher level of contribu<on. Your game was construc<ve and inspiring. I want to see each of you onballers pay more aGen<on to using and hearing your team mates voices in contested ball. A few <mes you chose to take on a group of opposi<on rather than bring the ball behind and across to our advantage. This needs you to have the support in those situa<ons as well I appreciate.
You didn’t get enough game <me this week Sam. I did like the raised level of presence you displayed. I will give you at least 3 quarters in a forward pocket this week, but require a li? in your aGack on the ball, par<cularly when your leading for a mark. Run hard and done wait for the ball, aGack it. Some good efforts on Sunday. Your big frame helped where you could provide a solid shepard for your 24 Flloyd Bullen-‐Nicholas onballers. Your skills let you down, but can be compensated for by your reading the play to your teams advantage. Talk to me if you want to understand this beGer. A very welcome in to the group this week. I love your ruck and immediate second effort. You create play and an addi<onal onballer to our advantage once the ball has been contestedin the ruck. Look a?er your 25 Daniel Healey strained hammy, we hope your available Sunday as your contribu<on is evident. A good game this week Cam. Keep working on your intensity around the ball and contests. Trust in your size and skills. Your fitness will assist you also, so make a point of li?ing your commiGmnent to the track. 26 Cameron Clark I am looking forward to your game this week. 27 A very good game from you Blake. I like the way you create space and ins<nc<vely move to advantage on the field, you read the play very well. You were le? hanging a few <mes by your team mates this week 28 Blake Wood when you were free. Kep presen<ng, I will work on instruc<ng the team to look for your run and carry. I also like your delivery into the forward line. Keep it up . DNP 29 Brad Sanderson 23 Sam
