Support for Waverton Community Day Centre The Williams Family Foundation have recently given a grant for the Day Centre to replace their chairs. Members and volunteers alike are delighted. They are attractive, comfortable and sturdy. They even have small wheels that make them easy to move and to store! Judy Moulds approached the Williams Foundation. She said ‘They were very responsive and thoughtful in making the grant. Our existing chairs had seen good service for more than 20 years and were in poor condition. Without this grant we would not have been able to replace the chairs and we are very grateful to them’ The Day Centre offers up to 12 places for older people who live locally and find it difficult to get out on their own. We meet every Tuesday throughout the year, from 10am to 2pm.

Members enjoy meeting together, a cooked lunch and a range of activities. We are looking for people to join one of our 4 teams of volunteers that share the running of the Centre. We need 2 additional carers to support our members and 2 additional drivers to help with local transport. No special skills are needed, just a genuine interest in older people. If you enjoy meeting others and can offer a few hours a month we would be delighted to hear from you. Do contact Judy on 01244 336186 or by e mail at Judithmoulds2@gmail.com
