Overview

Overview

The role of the HLTA is a highly significant one in our schools. This meeting will provide opportunities for HLTAs to network with others employed in the same role and to share existing good practice. During the network meeting we will consider questions pertinent to your role and work to identify areas for further Professional Development. You will be given updates on current educational practice and ideas to support your work in schools.

Training sessions are organised throughout the year that are specifically aimed at Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. These will be arranged according to need and examples of previous sessions include: deaf Awareness and Supporting Hearing Impaired Pupils at School – including understanding deafness, grommets, hearing aids, cochlear implants and strategies for classroom support the SEND Code of Practice and the Role of the TA in the classroom – including interventions available.

Outcome This training session will be arranged over the course of the year, according to need and demand. This training will be advertised on the portal as each session is organised.
