Academy Schoolboy Academy Update

It has been an exciting and busy period for the clubs U9-U14 age groups over the past few weeks. Since we last appeared in the Matchday Programme, we have continued to diversify our games programme by playing different clubs up and down the country including halfterm trips to Doncaster Rovers for a tri-festival against opposition clubs such as Birmingham City, Sunderland and Doncaster. After the games our U13s age group attended the First Team fixture at the Keepmoat Stadium and

were met with a pre-match team talk from First Team Manager Mark Bonner before cheering on the U’s in the away end for the 1-1 draw. Whilst we celebrate on the pitch success, we would also like to shine a light on some really positive success stories off the field in recent weeks. Congratulations to Harry Fell, who has been selected and represented England Hockey at U15s and also to Tomi Olidaran, who was awarded a Head of Year certificate this term for hard work, spreading kindness and representing the school to such a high standard. In addition to this, he was part of the U13 Table Tennis District team who won the recent district championship. It has also been an exciting period for coaching development as we hosted an exclusive event for the Academy partner clubs, which was hosted and delivered by Mark Bonner and Jake Hammond. The discussion included a big emphasis on coaching education and featured fascinating interest from the First Team Head Coach.
