Exterior Materials
The intervention is stacked on the roof of the existing stucture.
The intervention behaves as a parasite at some part of the building as it protrudes out at an angle.
Brick Masonry The language of the extension is different than the existing.
Powder Coated Steel
Interior Materials The arrangement of the apertures in the existing building is in an orderly manner.
The arrangement of the apertures is in a random pattern and every aperture is of different size and shape.

The angled block protruding out from the doorway gives direction for movement and emphasizes on the entrance.
Brick Masonry (Interior)
Clay Tiles The intervention is weaved into the building as some part of the intervention protrudes out through one of the faces.
Existing arched apertures are renewed and restored to keep the history alive.
• A surface is added to hide the complex roof stucture and make the space look seamless. The lighting for exhibition space is added on the new surface
The intervention is cantilivered on the existing wall.

New Materials
A new glass and steel structure is wrapped above and around the old building to preserve it. Services run in the outer corridor.
Project Name: Hanzas Perons Cultural Center
Year of Construction : 2019 Location: RIGA, LATVIA Architect/Architects: Reinis Liepins, Sudraba Arhitektura
The space between the old and the new works as a transition space and makes an intangible threshold.
The material seen from the outside is totally different than the original building. The language of the apertures changes in the new from the old.

OTAJIMA PARK
DEATH OF TARELKIN
• The artwork is a stuctured composition of linear wooden members and curved metal planes.
• The artwork is comprised of planes that are comprised of lines.
Tobias Putrih
Tobias Putrih
• It has open as well as closed forms.
There is an overlap of the linear members rather than intersection. The artwork has open ended junctions.
An asymmetrical grid is used in the structure.
The vertices of the grid makes the artwork seem to be rigid.
The geometry is broken by the intersection of a curved element in to the rigid form.
DERIVATION FROM ARTWORKS
Juxtaposition of curved planar surfaces and straight lines is created.
A different element is used as base to supports the artwork as it provides more surface area.
26
Continuity is sensed in the artwork because of the seamless junction.
The repetition of linear elements in proximity make a planar element.
The line where two planes intersect becomes the junction.
The artwork can change it’s form because of the multiple vertices.

IN-fusion
The dilapidated industrial factory, not far from Ahmedabad airport, is located behind the bustling downtown. The industrial factory was originally a machinery factory and now it is an experience museum of design in India. Design in India is a fusion of multiple states and domains, India has fusion in culture, food, music, art, and almost every other domain. Fusion is one of the strategies of innovation. However, design is a process of creation which constantly evolves and transforms with time. In this dynamic period of evolution, change is inevitable. The fusion of the new in the existing, is the process of transformation. When the existing situation adapts to the contemporary methods and ideologies there is a coexistence of the old and the new, but the contrast between the two is distinctly evident. This approach of fusion, highlights the new state but it also glorifies the old in its existing state. This project, IN-Fusion Design museum is imagined to bring India’s tryst with domain of design through a system of museum spaces, exhibition/gallery spaces, conference/seminar halls, competitions, workshop studios and events. The program has three major functions i.e. display, interact and collaborate. The temporary and permanent exhibition spaces come under the function of display. The open plaza, cafeteria and breakout spaces come under the function of interact and the workshop and library comes under collaborate function. A Design museum showcasing the journey of Design in India and its futures is the core idea behind such an imaginarium.

IMAGINARIUM
Program Divisions:
PROGRAM: The project is a museum for Indian Design. This museum displays a fusion of DESIGN, CRAFT and INNOVATOIN, that curates furniture, products and visual graphics. Here, the designers and artisans can collaborate to create and innovate designs. The museum offers an opportunity to curate both, permanant and temporary exhibitions simaltaneously.

Functions and Programs of the Project
• PUBLIC SPACES Booking/Registration Office • To register and book for the museum tours, workshops, seminars, lectures, talks Permanant Exhibitions a. Furniture display b. Product Dispaly c. Visual Graphics Temporary Exhibitions • 3 defined spaces to host temporary or travelling exhibitions and can also be reserved for interactive discussions, talks, seminars and lectures. The 3 spaces can be expanded to one continuous space when the scale of the exhibitions is huge. Auditorium/Performance Space • A reservable space for events by the on going exhibitions. Retail Store • A store that markets and promotes the objects displayed in the exhibition. Cafeteria • A contemporary Indian restaurant that serves the fusion of different culinary traditions. • SEMI PUBLIC SPACES

EXHIBIT
A space that displays the works of the designers where the visitor can watch, learn and create design solutions by collaborating and interacting with the designers. The intent of the program is to create a whole experience of the innovative design solutions, the designs which involve growth and betterment in people’s lifestyle. Providing an opportunity to collaborate and innovate. The program rejuvenates the craft practices by fusing it with the current technologies and innovative designs.
PROGRAM
