Welcome to 5990 Whitestone Lane in the lovely golf, gated community of Laurel Springs. Home of the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, a challenging par-71 golf course. Laurel Springs is a friendly, family oriented community with approximately 736 homes. This community is located in South Forsyth with a Suwanee, Georgia address. The community has easy access to GA 400, Highway 141 and Highway 20. There is great shopping and dining in the area. One of the favorites for the area would be “The Collection”- an open air shopping with various food venues and movie theatres. Laurel Springs is also home to the award winning schools: Sharon Elementary, South Forsyth Middle, and the ever popular Lambert High School. There are local parks and recreation facilities with various sports, arts, and other educational programs for all ages.

Laurel Springs was designed with families in mind. The community has a park, a playground, 2 beautiful saline pools, one a heated lap pool used by residents, swim team and for swim meets and the other pool is a free form resort style pool but the favorite of all the kids is the giant waterslide. There is a basketball court and a gorgeous resident’s clubhouse with a grand room, a huge stacked stone fireplace, and a full sized kitchen. The resident’s clubhouse is available to the homeowners for functions and other events. There is an exercise room and bathroom/dressing facilities for the pool as well. Laurel Springs also has an extensive tennis program with professional tennis coaching and a tennis pro shop. This program offers lessons for all ages at all levels and tennis teams as well. The tennis program is one of the most popular programs in Laurel Springs. You will want to be “on your game” and get involved in this fun and athletic program. If golf is your game, then you will love the Jack Nicklaus par-71 golf course. The golf club is private. Join the golf membership and enjoy the golf club with its own golf clubhouse with dressing facilities, a restaurant and bar, a golf pro shop, and a spectacular veranda overlooking the driving range. Many resident’s come and gather on the veranda with their friends in the afternoon to relax and unwind.

Other Amenities and Club Features

There is 24-hour security and an onsite HOA property manager. The security staff is one of the favorites within the community. Some of their staff have been with the community since it first opened. You will find security a delight – always waving to you as you enter through the front gate. Somehow they seem to know everyone’s names, even the children. They do an excellent job of keeping the community safe and also organizing and directing traffic, etc. with the many events that take place in the community. There are also many clubs to get involved in. There are book clubs, dinner clubs, and Bunco which is always a favorite and much more. Location within the Community

5990 Whitestone Lane is located towards the front of the community making it easy access for the kids to ride their bikes or walk to the clubhouse, tennis courts, or pool. From the front gate, take your third left onto Ettington Drive and then take your first left onto Whitestone Lane. 5990 Whitestone Lane is located in a flat, private cul-de-sac on a private interior lot. The sellers of 5990 Whitestone Lane are the original owners. They custom built the home and since have done an addition and an elaborate renovation to the home – taking some rooms all the way down to the studs prior to the renovation. As you drive up to the front of the home, you will immediately notice this 4-sides brick, elegant, 2-story colonial home with a full finished terrace level. This home has a three-car garage with a turnaround pad and additional parking for family and guest.

Entrance To The Home

As you step up to the brick front porch and into the foyer, you are greeted with wide plank floors and an antique light fixture from France. As you will see, the details in this home are parallel to none. As you look to your left while standing in the foyer, you will see a handsome gentleman’s office. This room was once a living room that the seller’s completely remodeled to make into this gorgeous gentleman’s office. This office is now a wood paneled office, done in “Special Walnut”. This office has built-in bookcases with pull-out drawers for your printer etc. plus heavy built-in file drawers. This office can be private or closed off by its glass French doors and is wired for TV. The plantation shutters are wood to match the décor of the wood paneling. There is a matching wood paneled ceiling fan and custom coffered ceiling. This home has glass transoms above most doorways and openings. This home also has heavy chair railings and extra wide moldings throughout. Plus, all floor registers have custom covers.

Dining Room

Every window on the front of the home was replaced last year with new energy efficient windows. The home also has all new updated hardware throughout. The sellers had all custom window treatments made and are leaving them with the sale of the home. As you stand in the foyer, to your right is the dining room that will comfortably seat 10–12 people. The dining room also has the glass transoms above the opening, custom white shutters, and the heavy moldings. The light fixture in the dining room is an antique fixture from an old home in Montezuma, Georgia. The dining room also has a pass through door with antique hardware.

The seller’s hired a professional designer to help them with adding a keeping room off of the kitchen, along with a wraparound veranda to the pool, completely gutting the kitchen, office master bedroom and bath, closets, built-in wardrobe and a custom bar downstairs in the terrace level. The kitchen is truly a dream come true! The sellers had “true” custom cabinets with specialty hardware and furniture legs built and stained “Special Walnut” with pull-out cabinets and self-close doors and drawers. This kitchen has under counter lighting, a window seat with storage below and a custom cushion, marble countertops and the upper cabinets have seeded glass doors. The corner cabinet was specially designed so it would swivel outward for easy access and extra storage space. There are deep drawers for utensils and special pull out drawers for Tupperware. The island is glazed with an antique white glaze finish. The island has a 5-burner Thermador gas cooktop. The kitchen has all matching, custom wood panels for the dishwasher, refrigerator, and garbage bin. The dishwasher is a Bosch (Eco sense with the top silverware rack). There is a special display case for either your specialty dishes or cookbooks. The backsplash is a beaded backsplash stained to match the custom cabinets. The sellers love to cook and entertain so the kitchen also has extra outlets throughout. There is an appliance garage, a built-in Kitchen Aid microwave, double Viking convection ovens and warming drawer. The refrigerator is a Viking refrigerator with the matching wood panels and the pullout bottom freezer drawer. There are special display shelves for your pretty bowls or knickknacks and plenty of can lighting.

Eat-in Kitchen

Just beside the kitchen is the vaulted eat-in area located beside the double-sided gas fireplace with a marble surround that matches the marble in the kitchen and a custom wood mantle that matches the custom wood cabinets in the kitchen. This fireplace is warm and cozy and comes with a set of gas logs. This room has a bead board chair railing and heavy moldings and is open to the new addition – the fireside keeping room with built-in bookcases and a real wood burning fireplace. This fireplace has a gas starter, a brick surround, and a custom wood mantle. My favorite of all is the custom beaded wood ceiling stained a darker wood color to match the kitchen cabinets. The floor in the keeping room is travertine stone. Again, there are transoms above the doors that go out onto the lovely veranda which encircles the saltwater pool. As you stand in the keeping room and turn around and look back into the kitchen and eat-in area, you will see the brick exterior of the home that was there before the room addition. There are extra can lights and windows and three pairs of French doors. There is a walk-in pantry just off of the kitchen and the laundry room which was just freshly painted. The laundry room has an extra deep utility sink with drying racks and tons of shelves for storage. The laundry room also has a window allowing for natural sunlight, a travertine floor and a built in ironing board.

Other Rooms Close to the Kitchen & Laundry Room

There is a powder bath with travertine flooring, special custom vanity with a Rohl sink bowl, antique faucet, and a marble countertop. This powder bath was also remodeled when the kitchen was done. Seller chose Thibaut Designer wallpaper for this room and an antique light fixture from France. The powder bath also has a leaded glass window built into a shutter frame that can open to allow for cleaning and regular use of the window. There is a hall coat closet as well.

There is a three-car garage with an epoxy floor finish with flecking and plantation shutters. There are garage door openers and rough sewn wood paneling on the garage walls to help protect the walls from nicks. It needs to be noted that the garage is extra tall in height and that there is a turnaround pad and an extra parking pad.

Now let’s go back down the hall, through the kitchen and keeping room and back out onto the veranda. This veranda is a covered porch with columns that wraps around the pool deck. This veranda is brick and has ceiling fans throughout the porch. The pool deck is made of Coolcrete – so it is not hot to the touch and will not burn your feet. The pool is a pebble tec salt water pool with heated spa and a stone ledge for sitting around the spa and a built-in stone waterfall. The pool is enclosed with black aluminum fencing and has two exterior gates for easy access. The sellers also built a stone wall with a built-in Tec Grill. There are exterior lights that come on at night in the front of the home, at the pool on the waterfall, and at the back walkway behind the garage. The pool equipment and storage are located behind the fencing to the side of the pool. There are built-in speakers and special plantings for privacy – some include Green Giants and Leland Cypress. The pool deck is gorgeous. The sellers even have a special planting area built into the pool deck. The seller is leaving the huge pots in this planting area. There is a Filter Pump and Waterfall Aqua Link RS8 pool system with freeze protection. The pool is currently maintained by Sunshine Pools.

Great Room

From the kitchen into the Great Room you have a wide case opening that has been trimmed out by the seller’s custom cabinet people. Also, from the Great Room you see the other side of the double-sided fireplace. This side of the fireplace has a custom glazed wood mantle with a slate surround. This room has special moldings and a special designed coffered ceiling with a wood paneled ceiling fan. There are built-in bookcases and French doors – all across the back of the home overlooking the veranda and pool. These French doors can be opened up as well as the French doors in the keeping room for large groups and parties. There are built-in speakers on the veranda and the pool controls are hidden behind the curtains in the Great Room. The sellers have a Sonos system which is a wireless HiFi Home audio system offering high-end streaming music speakers, whole house audio setups, and more. This system can be operated from your iPhone. There are three receivers that run this system. The sellers will be taking the receivers with them but the new homeowner can buy as many receivers as need be.

Master Bedroom

Down the hall from the great room is another coat closet. Then just past this coat closet is a master suite and master bath. The master bedroom and bath were completely gutted and taken down to the studs and redesigned. There is a huge custom built wardrobe and sitting room just as you walk into this luxurious master bedroom. There are two closets. There is a smaller closet up front near the sitting room and a huge closet at the backside of the master bath. Both closets are completely built out by a professional closet designer and include special features such as built-in drawers and cubbies, hanging racks, valet bars, etc. The master bedroom has hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The ceilings in the master are a replica of the ceiling in the Cloister at Sea Island, Georgia. The master suite also has built in speakers and is wired for TV – in both the bedroom and bathroom. The master also includes the (3-inch wide) blinds, heavy moldings, and tall baseboards and plinths.

Master Bath

The master bath, which was also part of the new design, has a travertine floor, marble countertops, drop in ceramic sinks, updated chrome fixtures and again, custom built-in cabinets designed just for the sellers. These cabinets have special features including four pull-out medicine cabinets and a built-in linen tower. The cabinets are done in a dark walnut. The master bath has a step in steam shower with dual spray heads – one is an overhead rain pan showerhead and the other is a spa shower head from the wall and a hand held shower spray. There are stone shelves and a stone bench and an all glass door. This elegant master bath would not be complete without a slipper tub with claw feet and an overhanging faucet with the hand held spray nozzle. Additional features in this master bath include a window above the slipper tub, heavy wood moldings, a wood paneled fan, built-in mirrors, and specialty lighting. Once you pass through this exquisite master bath, you come to your second master closet. Again, each closet is completely built out by a professional closet designer with extra shelving, cubbies, built-in drawers, valet bars, etc. There is also a window for natural light and blinds.

Upper Level

Up the stairs, you have a carpet runner and solid wood landings. There are three bedrooms up – each with their own private bath. There is a huge landing at the top of the stairs with a built-in desk and bookcases for studies and a sitting/den area for watching TV. The guest bedroom could be used for a second master suite as the bathroom was completely gutted and remodeled with a glass shower with the rain pan showerhead from above, a spa shower head from the wall and the handheld spray wand, stone shelves, and a stone seat. There are custom cabinets with dual drop in ceramic sinks and new chrome fixtures and a travertine floor. All secondary bedrooms have walk-in closets. Additional features upstairs include a seasonal cedar closet, additional linen closets and a door with stairs up to floored attic storage space. All have ceiling fans and window blinds.

Terrace Level

Back down stairs and to the terrace level, you will notice the antique sconce on the walls, the open iron railings and a carpet runner with a solid wood landing. There is a media room, a custom built bar, a recreation room, an exercise room, another office, another bedroom with a full bath and tons of storage. Also on the terrace level is a gun closet with a metal door and its own separate lock and key. Both the media room and the recreation room have the specialty coffered ceilings. The sellers gutted the full kitchen on the terrace level and built a gorgeous PUB BAR/KITCHENETTE. The bar has granite counter tops, custom wood cabinets – that match the upper kitchen cabinets with the seeded glass doors in the upper cabinets, all stained the “Special Walnut”. This bar has a paneled Bosch dishwasher to match the custom cabinets, paneled Kitchen Aid icemaker, GE built-in microwave and an under counter beverage refrigerator with a pull-out wine rack. This bar design includes a special “crisscross” wine display, a bar sink, and an appliance garage. The backsplash is the same granite as the counter tops. The bar has hanging bar lights and a really cool door that goes into the exercise room. The bar side of the door is antique glass whereas the other side of the door facing into the exercise room is mirrored. The EXERCISE ROOM has a rubberized floor, wall of mirrors, utility lighting, and is wired for TV. Sellers are not leaving the TV’s but will leave all brackets. Just past the exercise room there is an additional OFFICE/CRAFT ROOM/WRAPPING ROOM, etc. It is in this room where you will find the gun closet – which has a metal door and its own separate lock and key.

Downstairs Bedroom & Bathroom

There is another guest bedroom and full bath in the terrace level with ceramic tile floor, a linen closet, wood vanity, and cultured marble countertop with a tile tub/shower combo.

Billiard Room

There is a custom built-in wall unit for games in the billiard room. The walls are finished with a wood chair railing. The sellers have a pool table – that they may consider selling. There are wood floors in the terrace level in the main areas. There are shutters on all windows and an extra exterior door that goes out to a concrete pad on the side of the home. Just outside this door is an unfinished tool closet for yard implements. This billiard room also has the custom finished coffered ceilings.

HVAC...The home has two systems – one for the upstairs and one for the main and lower level. The main level unit has 2 zones. The terrace level has its own zone that runs off of the main floor unit.
