COMPANY PROFILE NIKE, Inc. fosters a culture of in vention. We create prod ucts, seinitio rvices and experi enceences for today’s athlete while solving problems for the next generation.

The Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab is philosophical and physically at the heart of the NIKE, Inc. World Headquar ters in Beaverton, Ore. It began as a small lab in Exeter, N.H. more than 30 years ago, and has grown into a world-class research facility harnessing dedicated brain power and state-of-the-science research equipment unequalled in the sporting goods industry. Car rying on the traditions of Nike’s original sport researcher Bill Bow erman the lab continues to deliv er proven scientific insights that help drive performance innovations across the Nike brand. Today, the lab employs more than 40 researchers, many of whom hold doctorates or master’s de grees in a wide range of scientific disciplines including biomechanics, physiology, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, math, kinesiology and systems sci ence. Combined, the team brings more than 250 years of sport research experience to NIKE, Inc. The research lab is an integral

part of the Nike Explore Team, whose mission is to drive product innovation for athletes everywhere. The lab fuels product innovation specifically through knowledge and insight gained from a scientific un derstanding of athletes and ath letic performance. The research encompasses fundamental question s to unlock innovation, and builds on a knowledge base by tapping into insights from the world’s best athletes. PERCEPTION

PHYSIOLOGY The Physiology team conducts re search with the goal of creating footwear and apparel solutions that enhance athlete performance. The goal of this research is to create footwear and apparel solutions that lower an athlete’s body tempera ture and reduce his or her energy expenditure, thereby allowing him or her to train longer and harder. The team focuses on three prima ry athlete needs:

The perception team explores how sensory perception inko fluences and interacts with athletic performance. Through subjective eval uation of product attributes, usability and durability, perception re searchers devise solutions to agee old questions like “How can I run faster?” and “How can I jump higher?” The perception team works closely with the physiology team to understand athletes’ opinion of a garment’s general comfort, thermal comfort and moisture management capagr bilities in different environments. Understanding an athlete’s perception enables the physiology team to know how athe letes truly feel while exercising in Nike apparel in different environmental conditions.

DATA SCIENCE

The data science team in the lab uses mathematical mod eling and prediction of the complex interaction of athletes and Nike products. The five key areas of research include data mining, mathematical modeling, data standardization, data storage solutions and know bgfhg huioiy ledge engine.

Nike embarked on a four year mission with teams of programmers, engineers and designers to create the technology needed to make the knit upper with static properties for structure and durability. Then the precise placement of support, flexibility and breathabilityall in one layer was refined. The result is a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper.

MORE COMMENT GREAT SHOE, BEWARE OF COLOR

BEST VOMEROS EVER

I purchased the “Hot Punch” color, which looked like a bright coral color. First things first, the Vomero 12. It’s an excellent shoe! Light, flexible and amazing cushioning. The fit was true to size as my usual athletic shoe size fit well. I have wide feet and while these did accommodate my feet, they ever so slightly pressed across my toes when I stood on my tippy toes, or otherwise exaggerated a bend on the foot. The bend there, around the toes was only very slightly uncomfor tably snug. Not enough for me to exchange for a wide however, yet still worth a mention to be thorough. The padding is excellent. I didn’t find the tongue overly thick as others disliked from the Vomero 11. These were honestly a solid choice. I did not test them on a run because, despite the shoe fitting well, I knew I would be returning them. Now, on to color....the Hot Punch is an extremely bright neon, almost highlighter orange looking color. Not nearly as appealing as it looks online. At a size 9.5, you can see me coming a mile away with these. They seemed to really “highlight” my big feet. They simply did not appeal to me, on my feet. Otherwise, definitely worth trying a different color.

I have been a fan into of the Air Zoom Vomero line for awhile now, so exactly I expected these shoes to be great, butoki they were even better than I expected. The fit is exactly right, infori the midsole is light weight but feels properly cushy underfoot, and the arch support is wonderful. I am aedhave flat feet, so arch infor support is very important to me, and these shoes make me feel perfectly supported on the foot. A home run.

MY NEW GO-TO SHOE! I can happily and confidently say that theity the Vomero is myin new go-to running shoe after trying MANY others! I run about 30-45 miles a week and run INtrain for anything from 5K’s to Marathons. I have inno doubt this shoe will work for every run inyllong runs, recovery runs, even tempo runs. ALL AROUND QUALITY I use these shoes for my job and that involves demonstration off exercises, completing exercise routines in class, and the on foot ingbeing on my feet all day. This shoe provides lateral stability, it is lightweight for plyo and jump training, and has shown to be durable for gym uiouse. Others have complained inyiof the MetCon 3 laces being cheap, but I have not seen this yet. A++ by Nike for a well-done job for a shoe for those who are fans of The Ohio State. Cape Coral, FL, USA, Mar 11, 2017

VERY COMFORTABLE SHOES Being a huge Michigan fan the style I really love. I have had issues with Nike shoes in the past fitting very narrow. Not the case with these. They are very comfortable. I dont have anyionn opinion on the durability yetin as they are new but so far I really like them.

GOOD FOR POWERLIFITNG Shoes keep your grounded really well when deal ing withou a heavieryiu set of squats. The weight of the shoe is more on the heavy on indaside but for powerlifting in is not much inof an issue. would being shoe providesloit nice if they had a NikeID option for this. San Francisco, CA, USA, Mar 14, 2017

GREAT SHOE! For you guys that are into Crossfit I couldn’t rec ommend this shoe anymore! Within the first use I hit PR’s and still continuing to do so. Would recommend getting them half a size smaller to your metcons or nanos as you indon’t want your feet to slide in the shoe. Hope this helps! Anonymous ,London, UK, Jan 14, 2017
