HIS HALF-TERM I headed to Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes, my daughter Ruby in tow
as well as her friend Freya and my fellow ‘big kid’ – Freya’s mum, Sam. We were greeted by music, smiling friendly staff and two pirate characters, including a pirate pig. Standard! Gulliver’s Lilliput Castle was a lovely warm haven to grab a drink and hot food – much needed on a freezing cold February day – and we explored Adventure Land, Gully Town and Discovery Bay. We also enjoyed the thrills of the roller-coasters, got a traditional soaking on the log flume and a good old stomach churning on the pirate ship. With three parks – Gulliver’s World in Warrington, Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes and Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath – the chain celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, with news that it’s planning a fourth resort in the Rother Valley area of Sheffield. This family-owned park is aimed at children between the ages of two and 13, and there are special group rates (see www.gulliversfun.
