LANE POLICIES & DEADLINES Dropped from your credit class? If you don’t attend the first day of class, Lane instructors have the right to give your spot to another student who wants it. If you decide not to attend a class, be sure to log in to MyLane and drop the class yourself by Sunday of Week 1 so that you won’t be billed for it. Don’t assume that your instructor has officially dropped you even if you don’t come to class! Late registration for college-level students Once the term has begun, you cannot register for classes online through MyLane without the instructor’s approval. Instead, you must attend the class and ask the instructor for permission to add it. This is called “crashing” a class – attending the first day and hoping to be given a spot in the class when another student doesn’t show up. If the instructor has room for you, they will fill out an add form and give you instructions on how to add the class. In order to add the class once you’ve been given instructor permission, you will need to register for it yourself in MyLane. Deadline to drop classes The drop deadline for college-level courses with a 100% refund is 11:59 pm on October 6 (Sunday of Week 1), which has already passed. If you need to drop a class you can petition for a refund but in many cases it is not possible to get one after the deadline. Schedule Changes for ESL If you want to make any changes in your class schedule, you’ll have to get teacher approval and see Dao Tran or Jen Hare by October 11 (Friday of Week 2). You can contact Dao at or 541.463.3436 and Jen at or 541.463.3438. International Programs Office Closures The International Programs office will be closed at 2 pm every Friday and from 8:30am-12:00pm on Thursdays. Most other LCC departments close on Fridays at 2 pm as well so keep this in mind as you plan your schedule if you need to meet with anyone to resolve an issue you have.

IMMIGRATION UPDATES Full-time status To maintain your F-1 student visa status, you must:  be registered for at least 12 credits if you are a college-level student with no more than one online class as part of your 12 credit minimum  be enrolled in 18 hours of class per week if you are an IESL student If you have any questions about this, please see your international student advisor as soon as possible! Underenrollment + SEVIS Termination Don’t forget: Friday of Week 2 is the deadline each term to be fully enrolled in 12 credits or 18 hours. If you do not have your full registration or an approved vacation or reduced courseload by then, your SEVIS record will be terminated! If you have concurrent enrollment at University of Oregon or another school you must turn in your schedule to Colby Friday of Week 2. You can drop by to give it to her or email it to Have you moved recently? Remember, if you move you are required by immigration to update your change of address in MyLane within 10 days of the change. The International Programs office will then update your SEVIS record with your new address.
