Røldal stave church The church was built in the 13 century and according to the legend, a cross in the church sweats every midsummer’s eve and the sweat has healing powers. During the Middle Ages, Røldal was the most important pilgrimage destination in Norway after Nidarosdomen in Trondheim. The church is still in regular use. Guided tours in the summer season.

Buerdalen and Buer glacier The Buer glacier is an arm of the Folgefonna glacier. There are marked footpaths to the edge of the glacier. A trip through the fertile Buerdalen is ideal on foot or by off road bike.
