Eidfjord old church

The stone church was built in 1309. According to the legend, it was built as a penance for sins by the rich and powerful Rika-Ragna. Guided tours for groups on request.

An area with a network of tourist footpaths. Examples include: - Kjeåsen, steep footpath to a mountain farm 530 m above sea level. 3-4 hour round trip. - Simadalselva, 3 km path along river bank. Suitable for wheelchairs. - Hæreid, historical walk from the centre, 1 hour. - Måbødalen, old track. Foot- and cycle path, 5 km. Hardangerjøkulen The 6th largest glacier in Norway.

One of the largest rockfill dams in Norway. 1, 160 m long and a volume of 3, 640, 000 m3. Clearly visible from Rv 7.
