WEEK ONE

‘PLAY WITH BRICKS’ • Strategies

By using the knowledge from the present tutorial and lecture, our group think a strong foundation is vital. And we spend most our heavy bricks on the foundation. (Red lined) These bricks give tension to inner small bricks which reinforced the whole structure.

WEEK ONE ‘PLAY WITH BRICKS’ • Rise The bricks are piled up by the form that introduced in the tutorial. Shaped like: __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ _ _ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ This form ensured one brick is always supported by two. Then the downward force will be divided equally.

WEEK 2

STRIPS

• 40 STRIPS • 15CM IN LENGTH

STRATEGY • Main structure is based on triangular structure.

• We built up three columns. • And we added triangular frame to the joint point of the superstructure. • The whole structure is getting thinner with the increasing of height.

RISING

STABILITY • As we tried to continue rising the structure, it stated to shake and even fall over. • The reason was the foundation was too light and not fixed to the ground.

RESULT • It was because our cutting method was not appropriate so the total height was not that amazing.

• But the other groups did built up some amazing ones.
