My capstone focuses on the space between the body and near environment, blurring the line of separation. To do this, I’ve studied the architecture of the body and the impact that material interaction with light has on the body and space. Using materiality, or lenses, to distort the shapes of our bodies creates a new form that is unrecognizable in our learned understanding of each other. The barrier between structure and space becomes blurred, giving way to a new space within space. A bubble of reflection or shadow begging for acknowledgment, while hiding the person within.
