Initial Photographs

Interpretation of Destroy Project When I took this photograph I was trying to capture the facial features of my model. I was particularly inspired by Rankin’s destroy project because it explored all of the things that you could do that doesn’t use computer programs to create a great effect. The composition of the photograph is quite strong but is weighted to the left slightly. If I were to retake this photograph I would make the composition stronger. I this photograph is a close-up of my model at this angle you are able to see his whole face. The photograph was in focus before I put tape all over it the tape was kind-of cloudy so it makes the photograph look out of focus. I think that my photograph looks a little over exposed but that might just because of the tape that is on top of the photograph. When I edited this photograph I was trying to make it very vibrant and eye-catching. I think that the colours from the photograph really contrast with the ripped paper that is on top of it. In conclusion I think that I have obtained the visual results that I wanted but it could have been improved in some aspects.

Interpretation of Dreams Result in More Dreams Project When I took this photograph I was trying to capture was the fact that it was symmetrically built. I was particularly inspired by Daniele Buetti’s Dreams Result in More Dreams project because it explores some of the things that you could do that doesn’t use computer programs to create a great effect. I have used a pin to make holes in the photograph and put it on a light box letting the light through the holes. The composition of the photograph is quite strong but it is quite faded where it has been printed then re-taken. If I were to retake this photograph I would make the composition stronger. I this photograph is from a low view point at this angle you are able to see the whole building. The photograph was in focus before I printed the photograph and put holes through it and the re-photographed it. I chose to edit this photograph in black and white because I thought that the pin holes where the light is coming through would stand out more. In conclusion I think that I have obtained the visual result that I hoped for when I took this photograph and edited it because I successfully changed the photograph without using a computer.

Interpretation of Dreams Result in More Dreams Project Continued

Final Evaluation Overall I think that I achieved the outcome that I wanted when I started this project because I successfully changed the photographs that I took to make them different the could not be replicated on a computer. I think that I could improve the photographs that I took by trying to make them more in focus when I re-took them after I had edited them. I think that the strengths of this project are that the photographs have been edited to a good standard and that the photographs have a strong composition. The weaknesses are that some of the photographs are weighted to one side plus some are a little bit out of focus where they have been re-taken. If I had the opportunity to re-take the photographs and re-edit them I would make them more focused and make sure that the exposure on each photograph is correct this would all make the composition f the photographs stronger. I would have also edited a wider variety of photographs is lots of more different way. This would have given me the ability to chose which of the photographs were the best and then I could change the ones that were not as good.
