Rod Schwartz,

Pullman Welcomes You!

It is my pleasure on behalf of the Pullman Chamber of Commerce to welcome you to Pullman! Whether you are in Pullman for the day, studying at Washington State University (WSU) for a few years or are a life-long resident, it is my hope that you take the time to experience the activities and attractions Pullman has to offer. Located in the beautiful Palouse, Pullman combines the benefits of small-town living with the cultural opportunities and vibrance made possible by its close proximity to a world class academic institution, Washington State University. This activities guide highlights just a few of the reasons local residents love living, working and doing business in Pullman.

STANDARD OF LIVING - Bloomberg Business Week has ranked Pullman as “the best place to raise your kids” in the state of Washington. Pullman boasts a low crime rate, convenient access to parks and recreational facilities, a modest cost of living, access to high quality medical care and an outstanding public education system. The Pullman School District has been regularly recognized as among the best in the state and benefits from a high level of public support. Pullman High School’s recent remodel has provided students access to cutting edge technology and facilities which will ensure the outstanding education Pullman residences have come to expect will continue for future generations. ENTERTAINMENT - Bustling with the energy and excitement of the university, Pullman offers a variety of entertainment options.

Sports fans can enjoy PAC-12 athletics as they cheer WSU’s 12 NCAA teams to victory. Both WSU and local community groups present outstanding theatrical productions and concerts year-round. A variety of activities are available throughout the Pullman area, including movies, bowling, laser tag, putt-putt golf, and many more. For those interested in beer or wine tasting, twelve local wineries and breweries provide an outstanding variety of craft beer and Washington wine.

RECREATION - Pullman provides outstanding recreational opportunities and facilities. Our metropolitan parks district maintains the city’s

seventeen distinct parks, comprised of 145 acres. Fifteen miles of city pathways and trails make it easy for residents to walk, run or bike anywhere in the city. In May of 2016, Pullman was designated one of the top “green transportation” cities in the nation and was ranked as the tenth best “walk to work” community in the country by Whether you are interested in hiking, fishing, cycling, field sports or virtually any other outside activity, there is no shortage of locations to explore.

PULLMAN BUSINESS - Pullman has a thriving business community which is invested in and supportive of the citizens it serves. From hightech industry to retail stores, hotels, specialty shops and restaurants, Pullman has something for everyone. Explore the town by taking some time to shop, dine or find the perfect gift. The Pullman Chamber is proud of our beautiful city and hope you enjoy your time here. I encourage you to discover for yourself why Pullman is a great place to live, work and do business. Robert W.
