Winter Visitors love the Palouse in summer, and winter offers activities for the active sportsperson or the quiet enthusiast. Snow usually falls sometime between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day and skiing is only ninety minutes away. Trails offer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The best raptor viewing is in winter, when the trees are leafless. Or spoil yourself at one of our spas, do some holiday shopping, or get jazzed at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO LIONEL HAMPTON JAZZ FESTIVAL, MOSCOW This annual February tradition brings some 10,000 young musicians and collegians as well as internationally-revered jazz artists to campus for four days of performances, workshops and world class evening concerts.
