The Greenpoint community was strongly opposed to development of the site. They craved a new park or green space. In this project, the site is utilized to its full potential. The large waterfront property is used as Greenpoint Manhattan a public park with constructed wetlands, East River wildflower gardens, and open recreational spaces. The path system brings the public through the interior of the park as well Williamsburg along the waterfront on an elevated boardwalk above Greenpoint Manhattan the dunes. East River An elevated walkway along the building brings the pedestrian closer to the firehouse and provides a better view of the water. Williamsburg
