The Gurkha Connection Project 25 March to 4 June This exhibition celebrates and commemorates over 200 years of the extraordinary relationship between the Gurkhas and the British Army. It is the culmination of a project which has seen local young people take a leading role in researching and developing the exhibition. They have worked with professionals, visited museums and met with members of the local Nepali community and Gurkhas to find out about their memories and personal experiences. Cost: included in admission charge

Valentine’s Day Cards 11 and 12 February In preparation for Valentine’s Day on Tuesday 14 February, take the chance to make a card for your loved one at our creative card workshops. Cost: £1 per kit in addition to admission charge

Half Term Fun! 18 to 26 February Pop in for half-term activities, trails and make-and-takes during our normal opening hours. Cost: included in admission charge


Mighty Military Thursday 23 February, 1:00pm – 4:00pm Come on a family tour for a close-up view of some of our amazing military vehicles. Suitable for all the family, but children must be accompanied. Limited places on each tour, please call on the day to book your place. Cost: included in admission charge, donations welcome

Paper Flower Making for Mother’s Day 26 March Make your mum some paper flowers for her special day. Free activity, but donation towards materials much appreciated! Cost: included in admission charge, donations welcome

Make a Teapot Pottery Workshop 7 March, 10:30am – 2:00pm Come and join potter Lucy Burley in the inspiring surroundings of the Allen Gallery as you create your own ceramic teapot, using hand-building techniques and hump moulds.

Evening Talks: Around the World in 80 Plants from Alton 27 April, talk at 7:30pm, optional garden tour at 7:00pm Author and foraging expert Stephen Barstow gives a whistle-stop tour of edible plants featured locally. Prior to the talk, Stephen will be hosting a walk around the Allen Gallery garden identifying some of the plants. Cost: £5 per person
