Light has a long history in Iranian beliefs. Before advent of Islam in Iran, religions such as Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism and Mithraism have used light parables to enlighten their beliefs. In the Islamic era, the light is the manifestation of God’s existence and is therefore considered holy and respected. Thus, the axis of using light had been spiritual aspects and the main purpose was movement from darkness to the brightness.
