1441 The “Torso Belvedere”, a Lead ‘Squeeze’, by William Wyon, of the reverse design of the Royal Academy prize medal of 1830, without legend, 51mm (cf BHM 1466). Very fine. £40-60 The torso named after the Belvedere Gallery in the Vatican where it is displayed. A Roman copy from a Greek original, the torso was much admired by Michelangelo.
