Hakuba Happo-one ski resort is taking a huge step forward with a new snow park at the Nakiyama base area. The new park in front of the Happo-one ski school will focus entirely on kids and beginners. The snow park will feature an 80-meter moving walkway clad inside a dome to keep the little ones dry on those snowy days. Not to be outdone, Jigatake Snow Resort with new management have been busy this summer creating the largest beginners snow park in Japan. Kids and beginners will feel happy and confident learning and progressing in a controlled environment. 八方尾根スキー場では、なきやまスノーランド を今季オープン。全長80mのドーム付きムー ビングベルトを新設。エアー設備やそりなど遊 び方も無限大。 ヶ岳スキー場もリニューアル しキッズエリアを充実させている。はじめての 雪遊びやスキーの練習には安心して楽しめる。
Hakuba Land Station opened in 2020 to great reviews. The impressive building with its distinctive wooden framework designed by renowned architects Kenga Kuma & Associates features a Snow Peak outdoor brand store, a Starbucks coffee shop, a restaurant and a tourist-friendly information center. 「Snow Peak LAND STATION HAKUBA（スノーピークランドステーション白馬）」は2020年7月に グランドオープン。北アルプスの峰をイメージした屋根と、木の枝と雪の結晶をモチーフとした独 特の木組みが象徴的な施設は、世界的建築家、隈研吾氏が手掛けている。施設内には、スノーピ ーク直営店、白馬村観光局のインフォメーションセンターやスターバックスなどが入っている。
Mark your calendars! March 4th & 5th is the 75th Anniversary of the Riesen Slalom Ski Race on Happo-one. Even though riesen slalom is the German word for giant slalom, the race is more like a downhill course with skiers flying down the Riesen course on Happo-one. The finish is at the Nakiyama base area. The race is open to all challengers.
