It seems that ‘change’ is the common theme for many people right now, and it has definitely been the theme of my life lately. I graduated from university mid July with a degree in mass media communications, and I immediately began preparing for the ‘next step’, which wasn’t pursuing my career in filmmaking and photography like I had thought it would be. Instead, after seeking the Lord and feeling His leading this way, I would be jumping right in to full-time missions. SURPRISE GRADUATION PARTY!

You may be asking, “What exactly will you be doing as a

full-time missionary?” Fantastic question! I will be working with the international missions organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in their Community Transformations DTS (Discipleship Training School) based in Kona, Hawaii. The DTS is a 6 month program that trains missionaries of all ages from all around the world to, first and foremost love God with their whole heart, then to selflessly love and serve others across the globe. As a staff member, I'm involved in the training and discipleship of students, as well as leading a team of people on a 3 month outreach somewhere in the world to serve people in need and share Jesus with them. At this point, I don’t know yet where I will be leading a team, but I’ll let you know as soon as I find out! For more info about the Community Transformations DTS, visit In preparation for the DTS to start, we as a staff have been praying for the students and have even started to get to know them via skype/phone/email to begin the discipleship process and to spur one another on toward becoming more and more like Jesus. Another job I’ve been doing is making ‘staff introduction’ videos so the people coming for the DTS can already know us a bit even before we meet in person! (to see the videos, go to and click ‘The Crew’)

At the moment I am in Austin, Texas, spending time with friends, family, and my home church Pedernales River Fellowship ( I’ve been incredibly blessed to have been sent out and supported by PRF and I look forward to the years ahead of serving with them. I leave Austin for Kona on September 10, and until then I will be continuing to make preparations for the DTS and also be working on building a committed prayer and financial support base. YWAM is different from some other missionary groups in that the organization itself doesnʼt pay its staff... from the president of YWAM to the toilet cleaner (who is actually usually a leader :), every missionary is responsible for raising their own financial support. Iʼm looking for partners who would commit to support on a consistent monthly basis as well as people wanting to give one time donations. Per month, Iʼm looking at needing $2000... this covers ministry expenses, food, and housing, as well as necessary expenses for leading missionary teams to different countries (plane tickets, insurance, visas, accommodations, etc.). I also am looking for consistent prayer support. Recently my eyes have been opened more to the importance and power of prayer... when we do it we are talking to the Creator of the universe and He actually responds to us!... wow!

Prayer Requests - grace and peace for my family... my brother just moved to NY for college and there have been some financial cut-backs in my parentʼs jobs... lots of changes!

- that I would know Jesus more and more every day... (that always seems to cause all other things to fall in line :)

If you are interested in becoming a prayer and/or financial partner, or if you have and questions/ comments, email me at
