THE FIRST YEAR in our new headquarters is coming to an end. It is a journey that has started and will continue for many years to come. After the first quarter, we made some major relocations of storage to get several components closer to our welding stations. During quarters two and three, we worked further to fine-tune the flow through the factory and made changes to the machinery in machining department. Going forward we continue to actualize our plans for a new, fully automated, robotic cell for welding of frames, and forks.
We have also strengthened our team with the addition of a Business Controller, who will be able to help us in terms of financial management, as well as in business and product development - Welcome Tobias.
The launch of Cebriá’s range has gained momentum and there are now several units in operation at end-user sites, both rotators and clamping attachments. After completing product training, both our sales, customer service, and construction departments have increased their knowledge. If your customers have needs for rotators, clamping attachments, paper clamps, or multi-pallet handlers, please get in touch and we can jointly submit a proposal.
The uncertainty regarding the market’s demand is great, this is undoubtedly very evident in the assessments we received from our customers regarding 2023. Our overall assessment right now is that the demand for our core products will be at the same level or slightly higher than in 2022, which means that this is the production capacity we are planning for.
Thank you for the great collaborations during the year, and together with You, we hope to make 2023 another good year!
Stefan Carlsson Pautt CBDO
The most festive time of the year is approaching with glitter, lights, and Mariah Carey around the corner. The time has come for the yearly, ceremonial announcements of the opening hours during the holidays.
On Thursday 22/12 at 16:00 production as well as our customer service will be closing for the Christmas and New Year celebrations. We will be back to work as usual on Monday 2/1 at 08:00
This Christmas, we are again supporting the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund through a contribution. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund works towards the most straightforward and important goal - to keep cancer away from children. Together we hope for even more effective treatment methods and success in research so that all children who fall ill will be healthy again. •

All units are characterized by robust constructions with high performance, long service life and high operational reliability. The products have a unique design and function with optimized visibility for the driver, which increases safety at the workplace as well as reduces the risk of damagees to the loads.
Hagaberg operates as an OEM supplier throughout Europe with a domestic market in the Nordic Baltics. The company was founded in 1984 and is one of two subsidiary companies in the Hagaberg Group, a group of companies focusing on innovation and safety in the field of material handling in combina-
tion with responsible and sustainable thinking. For us, innovation is about changing and refining ourselves through new ideas, methods and products. The most important thing is to constantly increase customer value in what we provide and let our development take place in close collaboration with customers and end users.
Hagaberg offer positioners that can be mounted on all types of trucks, telescopic loaders and construction machinery, new as well as used. Assembly takes place through integration, HOOK-ON, machine mounts and a series of quick mounts. With the entire development department in Askersund, Sweden, we ensure access to our team of skilled and committed designers who also develop customer-unique solutions for special needs. •
THE PROJECTED WEIGHT SAVING IN 2023 IS EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 25,000 KG.
TOBIAS WIDLUND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Tobias is our newest colleague in the building! He assumed his role during the fall and expanded the workforce and management group in the role of CFO. Tobias is working with developing and leading financial management in the company. With him on the team, we can look forward to strengthened and tailored processes and goals on the expansion journey.
How long have you worked at Hagabergs Mekaniska?
It’s almost 3 months now and time has gone by fast. We have spent a whole autumn together now!
How does the new working life feel?
Very good! I´m coming here from the service sector so it’s a new challenge and exciting to join a producing company with an articulate position on the market and with great potential for growth.
Hagabergs has undertaken a priority initiative to reduce its impact on the environment. This includes several points relating to how we perform actions and our own behaviour. But it also lists points involving our customers and end users.
One of the biggest initiatives concerns reducing the weight of our positioners, which is achieved by removing unnecessary steel in the frames, as well as optimizing the cross-sections in the forks. The positive effects will be reduced CO2 emissions by using less steel, we will transport fewer kilograms, and allow trucks to be more efficient. The latter through higher residual capacity, lower energy consumption, and less wear and tear.
The first series of positioners to receive a weight-optimized frame is our C series. On average, we have reduced the weight in these frames by 10%. Now we take the next step with the C-series, and our E-series, to optimize the cross-sections in the forks. In cooperation with
our main supplier of forks, VETTER in Germany, we have developed new optimized crosssections to reduce our environmental impact and improve efficiency for end customers. This without any impact whatsoever on the load capacity or the safety factor of the positioners.
On our website, here in our customer magazine and in our product sheets, we will report relevant results and effects of our initiatives. And right here and now we can inform you that the projected weight saving in 2023 is expected to be around 25,000 kg. On fork lengths 10001900 mm we save approximately 10% weight and on fork lengths 2000-2400 mm we save approximately 25%. •
What are the challenges?
Hagabergs has had a good entrepreneurial spirit and the challenge for me is to set the structures within it. Define what exists and see what is needed.
How do the best working days start?
Coffee straight away. Then I sit down with my cup to check relevant news. Then I always make a round saying hello to all the colleagues.
How do you take your coffee?
Preferably a strong cappuccino. A small Italian obsession expresses itself through one, or several, cappuccinos which should be had in the morning.
3 personal characteristics?
Analytical, sweet tooth, easy-going.
Outdoor activity this winter?
I’m cross-country skiing as much as possible! I think the technique is still a bit messy, but that doesn’t stop me.
A sawmill in northern Sweden requested a fork positioner with hydraulic reach forks, where the requirement for the cross section of the forks was tight.
GThe forks had to be very thin, as the timber packages only have thin bedding to stand on. In addition, there were challenges in the loading process, where you need to be able to load in double layers.
The solution we delivered was an F4-81/2100 with double KOOI® Reachforks in model RG4. The thin pairs of forks were welded together so that there were double fork blades with a cross section of 338x57mm. With this solution, the customer can conveniently pick up the wood packages while at the same time having the opportunity to load the entire car from one side. •

Hagaberg has launched a new family of robust positioners in the capacity range 10 –18 tonnes, with load centres of 600, 900 and 1200 mm.
The new family comes in three different series and replaces our F and F4S series with equivalent capacities. The focus during the development of the new positioners has been to achieve superior visibility for the driver and top performance in terms of reliable operation, low maintenance costs and long service life. In addition, the positioner frame is built extra low to further maximize visibility, which increases safety at the workplace.
Our three standard series are called RHD, RPHD, and RHD-L. The first, RHD, is a fork positioner with side shifting. In addition to fork positioning and side shifting, RPHD also has a powered pile slope function which allows tilting of ± 5°. RHD-L is equipped with a tilt fork instead of a centre skew function, where you can raise/lower the fork ± 100mm.
The positioners can be configured with a wide range of options, such as special forks, Carrier plates, Terminal West, load back rests, coil booms, cameras and sensors, hydraulic extension forks, and more. Our engineers are happy to help with further tailor-made solutions if needed. •
