FINE TUNE OUR PRODUCTION
MORE THAN A YEAR HAS PASSED since we moved into our new premises in Askersund. An exciting time with a lot of work to fine tune our production. Minor changes have been done, such as adjustment of the ventilation and the welding extraction and new rackings near our welding sites.
In this issue, you will meet Johan Grankvist, our technical manager. With his 30 years in the company, he has been involved in developing most of our models. He has designed thousands of customised and tailor-made solutions. Johan is our senior technical designer who ensures that our future generations of technical designers have the right input regarding the functions, quality and performances of our products, to meet our
Read more about the options on our positioners presented later in this issue. By options we mean the integration of optional extras into the products, to adapt to the end customer’s application, increase safety in the workplace or reduce the risk of damaging goods.
For those partners who offer hook-on attachments, we have developed a stock range for immediate delivery. A narrow, efficient range that fits all forklifts from 1.6 to 5 tonnes. If there are requests for a specific width or other capacities, all our positioners are available as hook-on models, with optional attachment.

SUMMER SCHEDULE
Once again, it’s time to inform you of the summer schedule for production and customer service
Production will be closed for holidays and maintenance from July 10 to August 7 (weeks 28-31). Spare parts are sent twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

HAGABERG OFFERS SMARTFORK®
– A NEW LEVEL OF WORKPLACE SAFETY
Equipped with sensor forks, the forklifts and handling of goods become safer than ever. Hagaberg offers SmartFork® optimally integrated on our high-quality fork positioners. Sensor technology leaves nothing to the eye or gut feeling and makes the work more efficient with technology for visibility, attention, position, weight, etc.
The forklift is the machine that is the most involved in reports of workplace accidents leading to sick leave. Forklifts are involved in about 20 percent of all machine accidents at work. The term machine here refers to mobile, fix and hand-held machines. The accidents are usually collisions with other forklifts and equipment, but also with people moving around in the same environment.

How long have you worked at Hagabergs Mekaniska?
This June it will be 30 years!
Do you remember your first day at work?
Hm ... unfortunately it seems to be a memory that is lost. But in the early days the focus was definitely on machining.
How did you start in the company?
I started working extra when I was still in school. It was my parents who ran the company at that time. During my studies I did extra work, it was surely fun to start working and earning money!
What is the biggest challenge as a technical manager?
Managing the time and making the most of it.
What are your favourite technical challenges to take on?
Developing new and designing specialised solutions. Also improving existing designs. Everything can be improved.
Summer is approaching! What are you looking forward to?
Everyday life during a long holiday with sun and swimming. Long days on the beach with the family. There are a lot of nice places around here. Tivedsbaden near here is a tip!
E-SERIES MARINE
HEC/HEF-SERIES –
NOW AS STOCK ITEM
The HEC/HEF series of hook-on fork positioners, part of the collection that makes up Hagaberg’s E-family, are now stock items. The series will be in stock and ready for delivery to the customer within 24 hours (working days) of confirmed order. The series includes the HEC and HEF models – a narrow, efficient range of attachments with fork positioning and side shifting.
In E-family fashion, the HEC/HEF series offers good visibility, precise positioning of the forks and stable sideshifting movement with maximum load. Inherited is also the character trait of special qualification to live for a long time in dirty environments with encapsulated high-quality bearings. The HEC/HEF-series of hookon attachments are equipped with ISO brackets which allow them to be easily mounted onto an existing fok carriage. The HEC is supplied with CarrierPlatesTM (fork adapters) which allow the use of standard ISO forks. The HEF model, on the other hand, comes with integrated forks suspended from the round bar.

– FOR CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
The E family has an exciting member in the form of the E-series Marine with corrosive environments as its natural habitat. This positioner is specially modified to withstand continuous exposure to salt water.
Hagaberg’s E-family consists of hydraulic fork positioners with sideshift which are very well suited for dirty environments. The forks are hanging and sideshifting on a round bar (so-called pin-type) where the high-quality bearings are encapsulated and thus suitable for dirty environments.
The E-series Marine is specially reinforced to be the best option in harbour and fishing industry environments. The attachment is modified for long term resistance to the corrosive effects of salt water. All sensitive components are reinforced to withstand continuous exposure in corrosive environments. The round bar has been given a special chrome coating, high-resistance encapsulation of the slide bearings, stainless steel support rollers and special screws sealed with marine silicone. Specialized salt water resistant paint is used for all painted parts such as the frame and hydraulic pipes. Some parts are also galvanized before painting.
This exciting, specially equipped variant of the E-series can be fitted with a load backrest as an option or as a retrofit. As an option, there are forks with other dimensions, materials and coatings as well as other functions. Welcome to contact us for a consultation. •
BESPOKE SOLUTIONS
Certain work environments and applications sometimes require modifications and rebuilds of trucks. In our production premises, we now have a separate department for truck modifications and rebuilds. With room for up to 3-4 trucks at a time, the capacity is good, and with our experienced employees we can take care of the most challenging requests.
Mast reconstructions, hose packages, installation of positioners in masts and accessories on the truck and in the cabins are all services that we can offer.
A recent case with a tailor-made solution concerned limitations of a work premises with a maximum height for lifting. The design required that the positioner should rise in height without the truck mast obstructing the lift. Here, our specialists have carried out a rebuild of a standard mast and turned it into a duplex mast with clearview. The main visible difference is the replacement of the center-mounted free-lift cylinder for two externally mounted clearview free-lift cylinders. In addition to this, we also installed a fork positioner, a new hydraulic hose package and cable reel supported by our self-made fasteners. •
