For this reason, Sibarita aims to place orders in the next week or so. Deliveries from the EU are suffering from severe shortages in the availability of transport owing to a massive shortage of HGV drivers in the UK post-Brexit and a reluctance of EU transport companies to risk delays on returning from the UK. Sibarita took a welcome break from dealing with orders online when Jack and James attended its first Farmers’ Market at Raydon, recently, generating a lot of interest in its products – the tall “Carmencita” mills of various mixes of pepper, salt and spices were a particular attraction. Alongside the national e-commerce market for Spanish foods, Sibarita believes there is room for strong local or regional suppliers that are not entirely dependent on online sales. Customers also appreciate dealing with a reasonably local business able to offer a very personal service, happy to discuss the products and provide advice. Sibarita offers the ability to collect, by appointment, and, depending on circumstances at the time, may be able to deliver the same day. Elmsett Messy Olympics The Olympics in Tokyo may have ended, but Elmsett Messy Church held there own ‘Messy Olympics’. Events included the long jump, hurdles, javelin, shot put, discus, showjumping, high jump, triathalon and boat race- all ‘loosely’ based on Olympic sports! Competitors included 24 children supported by their parents and grandparents. As the event was held on our Village football pitch, there were several spectators – unlike Tokyo! We even had our own Paralympian Evie Edwards who is about to fly out to Tokyo as part of the Team GB Boccia squad. Evie gave us a demonstration and all the children were able to have a go. Look out for her as the Paralympics start – Team GB missed a medal at Rio by just one point, so we wish her good luck this time round. Several passers by commented on how great it was to see the children’s smiling faces and hear the laughter and fun that everyone had. At the end, we had a closing ceremony where everyone got a gold medal and certificate, of course, a posy and a chance to wear a real Team GB T shirt – one size “fits” all! Liz Cope
