Human Resources Department Supports Employees for Security and Success The Human Resources (HR) Department at HACC has made significant progress in preparing employees in areas of professional development, employee benefits and compensation. Professional development: HACC’s HR Department collected data to build a catalog of professional development courses, offered through the Faculty and Staff Development Institution. Employees can take part in courses such as Body Language Basics and Generational Diversity to learn or sharpen skills essential to their professional careers. Employee Benefits: The HR Department developed tools to provide competitive benefits to HACC employees: • Developed approaches to minimize risks and costs to the College associated with the potential impact of the Affordable Care Act • Conducted a survey for employee feedback on current benefits offerings for improvement in the upcoming year • Completed the triennial review market-based pay to ensure HACC salaries are and remain competitive • Led the Dependent Verification Audit, resulting in healthcare coverage savings of more than $314,000
