Excellent reviews of healthcare programs during regular accreditation visits HACC’s diagnostic medical sonography (DMS) and dental hygiene programs received exceptional reviews during accreditation visits at the Harrisburg Campus. In addition, the surgical technology program received kudos as a leader in the field.
The DMS program received glowing marks with no violations reported and high acknowledgements from its accrediting agency, the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The Commission of Dental Accreditation also provided high marks to the dental hygiene program. During the annual “Sealant Night” in February 2014, 159 dental sealant procedures were given for free and dental health information provided to more than 500 community members by students, faculty, staff and community volunteers. The surgical technology program received a certificate of merit from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting in recognition of a 100 percent pass rate on the national certification exam in 2013. The class of 2014 also received a 100 percent pass rate, marking the third consecutive year all of HACC’s surgical technology students have aced the national exam.
