Pre-Prep and Prep School edition
Friday 14 June
Summer Term
I hope this newsletter finds you well. This week's message carries a different tone.As you know, our school values are central to our community, and yesterday, I witnessed one of these values in action.
On 25 May 2024, we lost a cherished member of our community, Mrs Risikat Olayide Muwowo, wife of Mr Nahum Pembu Muwowo and mother of Temwani. Yesterday, I had the honour of attending her funeral with my colleagues Mrs Dipal Shah and Mrs Katie BruceGreen. The church was filled with people who came to pay their respects. The service was beautiful, a fitting tribute to a woman who, despite her short life of 50 years, had a profound impact on those around her.
Though I had only known her briefly, the heartfelt tributes from attendees spoke volumes about the remarkable person Mrs Muwowo was. She was beloved in every community she was part of, whether her family, church, workplace, or our school. She would have been proud to see the connections she fostered celebrated yesterday. Mrs Muwowo was dedicated to creating bonds wherever she went, ensuring no one was left behind or unconnected.
Speaking with parents after the service, we collectively acknowledged how Mrs Muwowo, as a devoted parent, touched many lives with her unwavering support, kindness, and dedication to our school. She was always ready to help and create a nurturing environment for our children. Her legacy of love and generosity will forever remain in our hearts.
In this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to the Muwowo family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult period. As a community, we stand together, offering our support and comfort.

During each 30-minute session, the floor of the swimming pool will be raised, and your child will be supervised by four experienced swimming teachers, a lifeguard and a teaching assistant.
With regards to changing, whilst staff will of course be on hand to assist, we will also encourage a high level of independence. In preparation, please could we kindly ask for your support at home by encouraging your son to dry and dress himself independently after bath time.
For these introductory sessions, children may wear their own swimming attire. Please ensure your child brings a pair of swimming trunks, a swimming hat and a towel in a separate bag (a drawstring bag or one that can be securely closed is ideal). Goggles won’t be necessary. Please kindly ensure all items, including your child’s bag and uniform, are clearly labelled. In Year 1, all children will require Habs branded swimming kit as per the uniform policy.
Please note that all children are expected to participate in the swimming sessions if they are well enough to be at school. If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
