Linden man found floating in Hopetown trench A man who once resided at Linden Upper Demerara and was reportedly now living at Hopetown, West Coast Berbice, was on Sunday morning found floating in a trench at Hopetown West Coast Berbice. The man, Glixmond Anthony Rogers, called “Tony” 61 of Block 22 Wismar, Linden, and Hopetown, West Coast Berbice, lived at Hopetown with his wife and a step daughter. According to his wife, Rogers left home around 05:45hrs to go to one in the side trench. Rogers leaves to mourn his wife, seven children and four foster children. He was the eldest of 18. The family suspects foul play and is calling on the authorities to investigate the matter fully. Relatives say when the body was found it had some gash on the head. A relative stated that it looked like he was hit on the head and thrown overboard or a vehicle struck him and threw him in the trench.

Rogers was described as a well-known individual in the village who did carpentry, masonry and joiner work. Rogers was the eldest brother of former national boxing champion and now national coach Earlan “Pocket Rocket” Rogers His body was retrieved and is at the Bailey Funeral Parlour No4 village. The police are investigating.

But the Chancellor questioned what if Munilall was abnormal. Nevertheless, Thomas is asking for the conviction and sentence to be set aside and/or reversed. The Court of Appeal has reserved its ruling in this matter. Notices for decision will be sent to the parties.
