ARANDORA STAR Thursday 4th October at 7.30pm Tickets: £9, £7 Concession £5 Student Family friendly - 2 children for £1 each with full paying adult

When Italy entered World War II in the summer of 1940, Italians living in the UK were branded by the authorities as enemy aliens. The play follows the story of Lina, who witnesses her father being arrested and dragged from their cafe. He was taken along with 700 other Italians to board the Arandora Star bound for an internment camp in Canada. On the 1st July 1940, The Arandora Star, mistaken for a troop ship, was torpedoed by a German U-boat off the coast of Ireland, and sunk with the loss of 446 Italian men’s lives. Based on a true story, the play will look at the life of immigrants living in the UK during a time of war, and follows Lina’s quest for the truth, and for her father.

Pan ymunodd yr Eidal â’r Ail Ryfel Byd yn ystod haf 1940, cafodd yr holl Eidalwyr a oedd yn byw yn y DU eu dynodi’n estroniaid gelyniaethus gan yr awdurdodau. Mae’r ddrama’n adrodd hanes Lina sy’n gweld ei thad yn cael ei arestio a’i lusgo i ffwrdd o’u caffi. Aethpwyd ag ef, ynghyd â 700 o Eidalwyr eraill, i’r llong Arandora Star a oedd ar fin hwylio i wersyll caethiwo yng Nghanada. Ar 1 Gorffennaf 1940, ymosodwyd ar yr Arandora Star gan daflegrau llong danfor o’r Almaen, gan feddwl mai llong filwyr ydoedd. Fe’i boddwyd oddi ar arfordir Iwerddon a bu farw 446 o Eidalwyr. Bydd y ddrama hon, sy’n seiliedig ar stori wir, yn adrodd hanes mewnfudwyr a oedd yn byw yn y DU yn ystod y rhyfel ac yn dilyn Lina wrth iddi chwilio am y gwirionedd ac am ei thad.

JODIE MARIE Friday 5th October at 8pm Tickets: £10 Family friendly - 2 children for £1 each with full paying adult

“Exceptionally Beautiful” THE GUARDIAN

0300 365 6677

The story of Jodie Marie starts off something like a joke – “man walks into a pub…” – and ends up like a fairy-tale. It’s the kind of thing that only happens in films, or dreams. But happen it did, and here she is, the brightest new star of 2012, already. After all, outrageous fortune often happens to those with outrageous talent. Mae stori Jodie Marie yn dechrau’n debyg i jôc - “mae dyn yn cerdded i mewn i dafarn...” ac mae’r diweddglo’n debyg i chwedl tylwyth teg. Dyma’r math o beth nad yw’n digwydd y tu allan i ffilmiau neu freuddwydion. Ond mae wedi digwydd a dyma hi, seren fwyaf disglair 2012 eisoes. Wedi’r cwbl, yn aml mae llwyddiant aruthrol yn dod i’r rhai â dawn aruthrol.

DON GIOVANNI by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Tuesday 9th October at 7.30pm Tickets: £15, £13 Concession £10 Student Family friendly - 2 children for £1 each with full paying adult Sung in an English Translation by Amanda Holden With the Mid Wales Opera Chamber Orchestra Conductor – Nicholas Cleobury Director – Martin Lloyd-Evans

Following last year’s stunning production of Madam Butterfly, Mid Wales Opera brings you another masterpiece for 2012.

Yn dilyn cynhyrchiad gwefreiddiol o Madam Butterfly y llynedd, mae Opera Canolbarth Cymru yn cyflwyno campwaith arall yn 2012.

A tragic tale of love, lust, betrayal and revenge – all human passion is exposed in the tense, claustrophobic world of Don Giovanni. The Don ducks and dives, but cannot in the end escape his fate, while all around him others fall prey to their own weakness…

Hanes trasig am gariad, chwant brad a dial - mae pob nwyd dynol i’w weld ym myd tywyll, caeedig Don Giovanni. Er bod y Don yn hen law ar dwyllo, yn y pen draw, nid oes modd iddo ddianc ei dynged, wrth i bawb o’i gwmpas ildio i’w gwendidau eu hunain.

With music by turns dramatic, overpowering and seductive – full of well-known melodies – and given an up-to-date twist by Martin Lloyd-Evans (who directed MWO’s wonderful Falstaff in 2010), this brand new production is bound to set your heart racing…

Mae’r gerddoriaeth yn ei thro yn ddramatig, yn rymus ac yn swynol, gyda llwyth o alawon adnabyddus â naws modern o dan arweiniad Martin Lloyd-Evans (a gyfarwyddodd gynhyrchiad gwych OCC o Falstaff yn 2010). Mae’r cynhyrchiad newydd sbon hwn yn siw ˆ r o’ch cyffroi.

Electrifying! Liz Aratoon, The Stage

November 1976. A military jet arrives in London and a bemused looking Iranian man in flares steps on to the tarmac. He holds a single suitcase and blinks in this new land.

Mis Tachwedd 1976. Mae awyren filwrol yn cyrraedd Llundain ac mae dyn Iranaidd, dryslyd ei olwg yn camu i’r tarmac. Un câs dillad sydd ganddo ac mae ei lygaid yn amrantu yn y wlad newydd hon.

Unknown to airport officials, he has smuggled in the last of his opium supply, and brings with him a complicated past from a culture which doesn’t slot very neatly into this one.

Heb yn wybod i swyddogion y maes awyr, mae wedi smyglo gweddill ei gyflenwad opiwm ac mae’n dod âgorffennol cymhleth diwylliant nad yw’n cyd-fynd yn daclus â’r un newydd.

Over the next few years his attempts to comprehend the differences between his past and his present will lead to jumping out of hotel windows, introducing backgammon to London bars, facing the terror of the National Front and stopping trains with his bare hands. It will also lead to broken hearts, secret loves and multiple children.

Bydd ei ymdrechion dros y blynyddoedd nesaf i ddeall y gwahaniaethau rhwng ei orffennol a’i bresennol yn arwain ato’n neidio allan o ffenestri gwestai, yn cyflwyno’r dabler i fariau Llundain, wynebu dychryn y National Front a stopio trenau â’i ddwylo yn unig. Bydd hefyd yn arwain at dorri calonnau, cariadon cyfrinachol a llu o blant.

Fusing drama, breathtaking acrobatics, live music and puppetry, So & So Circus tell the true story of this extraordinary man and his life lived without a safety net.

0300 365 6677

Gan gyfuno drama, acrobateg cyffrous, cerddoriaeth fyw a phypedwaith, mae So and So Circus yn adrodd hanes gwir y dyn neilltuol hwn a’i fywyd heb rwyd diogelwch.
