Are you ready for an adventure that will ignite your creativity and leave you inspired? Look no further than Adventures & Art, the premier art studio and educational center in Caledonia. Led by talented Caledonia native, Emily Mattice Roll, Adventures & Art is a haven for artists, focusing on programming for 2-18-year-olds. Committed to nurturing creativity and providing a personal touch to every program, “Miss Emily” brings extensive experience and love for art to each class.

Adventures & Art traces its roots back to 2011 when a 14-year-old Emily, driven by her passion for art and armed with knowledge gleaned from her family’s small business, offered art classes in her parents’ home. Known as SPLAT: Super Phenomenal Little Artist Team, her classes quickly gained popularity through word of mouth. Today, Adventures & Art has evolved into a vibrant creative hub. Emily’s flexible curriculum includes the beloved SPLAT program along with newer offerings such as STEAM and Creative Play. Since 2015, Adventures & Art has expanded work with Drama Kids International of Rochester to provide an array of highquality performing arts programs.

Emily says it’s been “a blessing to watch my regular students blossom over the years. I love using my passion for creativity to help people, especially the kids and teens. They have so much fun developing their own artistic skills, confidence, friendships, public speaking and communication, responsibility, and more.” She believes in working together as a team and valuing each student’s ideas, interests, and goals. From small-scale projects to large-scale collaborations, students actively participate in the creative process, from brainstorming ideas to bringing them to life. They not only gain essential life skills but also develop positive character traits that will serve them well in life.

Adventures & Art takes great pride in being involved in local events and festivals, including Caledonia’s Hometown Holidays, LivCo Walls Mural Festivals, and the Caledonia Trout Festival. Emily and her students actively contribute their time, talent, and enthusiasm to make these occasions extra special. From free walkin crafts during festivals to captivating outdoor art installations, Adventures & Art brightens the village and fosters community spirit. The variety of ages she interacts with, the opportunity to work on her own artwork, and being an active part of the community make Adventures & Art a dream come true.

Adventures & Art has exciting future plans. Emily envisions continued slow and steady growth, solidifying Adventures & Art as a Caledonia fixture. Improvements to the facility, expanding course offerings, and collaborating with experts in various art disciplines are all part of her plan. Emily plans to soon hire part-time teachers, providing opportunities for talented individuals and helping aspiring teenage artists develop their own paths as assistants or interns.

This year, Adventures & Art has an incredible lineup of workshops, events, and walk-in projects for local kids and teens. From the popular SPLAT and STEAM programs to Drama Kids, Creative Play, and Move & Groove, there’s something for everyone. “You can’t beat the small groups, creative environment, and all the special things we do together all year,” Emily says.
