Junior Church is located in the CE Wing - for children in PK - 4th grade Age appropriate lessons, activities & snacks are provided. It is our desire to glorify God as a community of Christ followers who love God, love people, and make disciples because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus or have questions about your faith, please feel free to speak with Pastor Jim, Pastor Phil or one of the Elders. Because Jesus doesn't really want a bunch of admirers; He wants committed followers. The question on the table is: Are you really a follower of Jesus or are you just a fan? Care Groups Care groups are an opportunity for you to share life in Christ with a group of 6 to 12 others. Through studying the Bible, serving, and praying together, care group members find the mutual support, practical love, and encouragement to grow. Various Care Groups meet twice monthly. If you'd like to join a group, please contact Guy & Kelli DeLeonardo who will help you find the Care Group that will best fit your needs - 384-3879 or -3-

On Tuesday night, November 26, at 7 pm, our EGCC family will gather in Buchanan Hall for a service of thanksgiving. It will be a special time to celebrate together God's faithfulness and goodness through the past year. We have so much to be thankful for! As we sing and hear the stories of our most beloved Thanksgiving songs and scripture, Pastor Jim will share God's heart for his people to live in faith, trust, and gratitude. Come and share in the joy of God's faithfulness to us! Be sure to arrive early for a special portion that you won’t want to miss!!

Reminders: There will not be a Wednesday Night Program on 11/27 (Thanksgiving Week) The Church Office will be closed on Thanksgiving Day as well as Black Friday (11/28 & 11/29)

We are looking for adults and teens to help out in the nursery for the Thanksgiving Service and the nights of the Christmas Musical. Please sign up on the sheet near the toddler nursery if you are interested.

The Diaconate is sponsoring our annual food offering for needy individuals, families, and the food bank. Today is the final day that we will be collecting non-perishable items. Please bring your items to the altar table as an offering, during the service after the ushers pass your row. Thank you for your generosity!

Please help out City Mission this month by giving coats, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, etc for the residents. Donations can be placed in the provided areas in the lobby, The Hall of Missions and the Church Office Entrance.

Philippines Typhoon Aid The Missions Board is collecting a special offering today to aid the typhoon victims in the Philippines. Please place your donation in the offering plate. All checks should be made out to EGCC with the memo "Typhoon Victims or Philippines" to denote it. Aid will be going to the organization "World Relief" and channeled through our Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4C’s). Thank you for sharing in God’s love for the people of the Philippines.

Praise to God and thank you for your response to those in need! We collected 82 Shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child!!


BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS Sun. Dec. 8th 9:30-10am ages 2 - Grade 12 Go to your Sunday school class first then we will all gather in Buchanan Hall for our Party at 9:30. We'll have cake and punch. We will also make Christmas ornaments to give away when we go Christmas caroling on Dec. 22. A Christmas tree will be set up for children to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Schenectady City Mission Toy store. At the mission every year parents can sign up to come to the toy store and choose gifts for their children. Otherwise those children might not have any toys or gifts for Christmas.

HOLIDAY ON THE AVENUE On Sunday afternoon December 8, our church will once again be participating in Scotia's Holiday on the Avenue. The Celebration Choir, along with Praise Gang, will be performing selections from this year's musical at 3:00 pm at a new location on the Village Green, right next to Village Paint. The Youth Group will be selling popcorn and hot chocolate at a venue close by. We will also be passing out flyers inviting people to come to the musical the following weekend. Come with friends and support our choir and youth!

‘COME TO THE MANGER' 'Come to the Manger', this year's Christmas Musical, is fast approaching! The evenings of December 13 & 15 will find our church filled with visitors who have come to enjoy this event. Along with those who are involved in the musical production there are many behind the scenes people needed to make this outreach a success. We need greeters, parking attendants, nursery caretakers, and bakers for Sunday evening's performance among others. We want each and every person who walks through the doors of our church to feel welcome and blessed. If you are able to help with any of these needs please indicate that on your communication card, or contact Gina or Sandie in the office. Above all please pray that God will work powerfully in and through it!

CHRISTMAS CAROLING For ages 2-Grade 12 on Sunday, Dec. 22 9-10 am.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE On Saturday evening, December 24, at 6:30 pm, we will once again celebrate the most wonderful gift ever given to man, the birth of our Savior. Plan now to make this service a special part of your Christmas tradition. Invite family members, friends, and/or neighbors to come and celebrate Jesus' birth and experience the wonder. LOSE IT FOR LIFE We will not be meeting for the month of December. Meetings will resume on January 6th 2014.

The next Men’s Breakfast will take place on Saturday December 7th at 8:30 a.m. All Men ages 14 & up are invited to attend!

East Glenville Christian Preschool 50th Anniversary Recognition Our Preschool began in 1963 and is preparing to celebrate 50 years of Christian ministry to preschool students. We would like to commemorate this special occasion with a reception following the church worship service. Please save the date for Sunday, March 23rd! The reception will be open to the surrounding community, many of whom have attended preschool here. Please spread the word to anyone who attended or worked at the preschool in the past! PRIMETIMERS LUNCHEON The Primetimers Christmas Luncheon will be held at 12noon on Thursday, December 5th. We will be having a variety of Ken’s soups and once again we will be privileged to have Mike Saccocio from the Schenectady City Mission as our guest speaker. We would like to help the City Mission during the holidays by giving unwrapped toys for their toy store or gloves, mittens, scarves, etc for the residents. Susan Richter, Margaret Shaver's sister finished chemo and radiation, good prognosis. Please pray for restoration to good health...and hair. Sharon Tallman’s grandmother, Audrey Welnhofer, who has lung cancer. Greg and Susie Bandy - for Priscilla’s job and God’s direction Please pray for Andrea and Pete’s Slover’s son-in-law, Steve and their daughter, Kim, with the passing of Steve’s father, Raymond DiCamillo. Please pray for Lewis Mulone, father of Joe Mulone as he has surgery to remove many cancerous tumors. Jackie and Dan Guillaudeu - Jim Barber (friend’s brother-in-law) who was diagnosed with brain cancer. Emma Miner-Squires – Jacob Miner, 3 yr. old brother of Kaylee and Elizabeth Miner, has been re-hospitalized after complications with epilepsy. Please pray for his doctors and family to pull together to get him home. Prayers also for his sisters to have strength in this troubled time. Ann Van Wie's friend Helen Collins who has Parkinson's disease is in Sunnyview after a stoke. Pray for relief from pain and for salvation for Helen and her family. Jim Hale prayerful support for continued recovery.
