Sarà forse per la sua capacità di sintetizzare lo scorrere del tempo che si concretizza nel senso di movimento racchiuso in un unico fotogramma, sarà che il movimento mi appare l’anelito incontenibile della vita stessa, la manifestazione visibile di una sorta di “aura vitale” delle cose rappresentate. Nella forma imperfetta e imprecisa di un “mosso” percepisco una sorta di familiarità nella quale risiede tutta la nostra stessa imperfezione. Le sorprese e gli incantesimi pittorici diventano il registro abituale di un sapiente narratore di storie, un racconto che procede per frammenti, squarci, improvvise illuminazioni. A painter who does not provoke words is like a magician who does not perform miracles, while it is precisely the following of the impossible that is Possenti’s supreme gift. Il ritratto nascosto rivela un'intera serie di volti di personaggi celebri che sono stati modificati e sfocati da una serie di protuberanze malleabili che ci rendono difficile vedere i loro lineamenti. This is the question I asked myself while working on the 'Hidden portraits' series. Cucendo trama e ordito cerco un ritmo, costruisco una superficie, ascolto il suono di una vibrazione di luce, una partitura d’ombre che cambia al variare della luce. Una ripetizione che confermi quel che ha scritto una volta Lea Vergine: non c’è niente di infinito se non la successione delle cose finite. Il trittico Animale, Vegetale, Minerale nasce come ironia sulla presunzione che hanno tutti i disegnatori ed illustratori di ridisegnare il mondo. Nel nostro piccolo universo fatto di segni vergati a mano ci sentiamo dei piccoli padroni del mondo. In un mondo di cui ci sfuggono i confini ed un senso pensiamo che, disegnandolo, forse riusciremo a controllarlo, ma è un’illusione di cui siamo i primi ad essere consapevoli. The triptych Animale, Vegetale, Minerale was created with irony on the presumption that all designers and illustrators must redesign the world. In our small universe made of hand-written laid signs, we feel a little like the masters of the world. In a world where boundaries and a sense of meaning fail us, we try to believe that by redesigning, we may be able to control it. This is nevertheless an illusion of which we are the first to be aware.

La collezione Istinti nasce da una suggestione legata al mondo del regno animale, si assiste ad un dispiegamento di colori incredibile necessario per comunicare, allontanare un predatore o avvicinare un simile, sono segnali precisi. Un'interpretazione illustrata con la precisione del progetto grafico, segni studiati nel dettaglio con la sovrapposizione di layer a colori e bianco e nero descrivono con efficacia la storia del mondo animale. The idea of the collection Istinti was born with the influence connected to the animal kingdom world, where incredible colours are necessary to communicate, to stave off a predator or to approach an animal of its own kind: these are precise signals. The accuracy of the graphic design is an illustrated interpretation, where the marks are studied in detail with layers of colours and black and white signs, which effectively describe the history of the animal world.

Le favole ascoltate e lette da bambino hanno generato in me sogni colorati ora, da adulto, i sogni ad occhi aperti mi suggeriscono nuove favole. E’ fantastico poter vivere in un mondo di sogni e di favole. The tales heard and read as a child generated colorful dreams in me; now, as an adult, daydreams are suggesting me new tales. It is fantastic to be able to live in a world of dreams and fairy tales.

IL VIAGGIATORE

Un omino tutto solo con il suo bagaglio cammina e cammina senza meta. Sembra un’immagine poetica tratta dagli anni sessanta dei figli dei fiori, ma il paesaggio non è più lo stesso. In pochi decenni ci siamo mangiati tutte le risorse del pianeta e quel che rimane è una stratificazione geologica di immondizie e desolazione. A lonely man walks aimlessly with his bags. It looks like a poetic picture of a hippy in the seventies, nevertheless the landscape is no longer the same. In a few decades we have used all our planets resources, and what remains is a geological stratification of waste and desolation.
