Center of Tampa. Created in 2013 by the CCC, the Gelatin Plunge has proved to be one of the most unique charitable events in Tampa Bay. The Plunge is a family fun event that’s a blast for all ages and has helped raise thousands to help children and their families who are battling childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders.

where Tampa Fire Rescue volunteers hosed off the Jell-O. To take a turn down the slide, individuals had to raise $500. The event was held outside the Children’s Cancer Center at 4907 West Cypress Street in Tampa. “We’re raising money in a way that allows these kids to participate and have fun,” said Patty O’Leary. “On behalf of the Children’s Cancer Center staff, we’re excited to inform you that our Gelatin Plunge event, presented by Caspers Company, was once again a huge success. Thank you to everybody who plunged, donated, sponsored, volunteered, supported, and helped promote the 6th Annual Gelatin Plunge! Together, we accomplished this fundraising goal and we couldn’t have hosted such a wonderful event without all of you.”

Locally: 93% of all newly diagnosed children being treated in Tampa Bay and the surrounding counties are referred from hospitals to the Children’s Cancer Center (CCC) for day-to-day assistance! These children, their siblings, and parents are all supported through 24 different emotional, educational, and financial programs throughout their journey during diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and too often, bereavement. The donations from the Plunge will go toward helping the CCC provide daily support to more than 1,000+ children and families coping with childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. It is because of the generous donations, support and involvement of local families in these types of events that the Children’s Cancer Center is able to provide financial, educational and emotional support to so many children, parents, and siblings throughout their journey during diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and too often, bereavement.
