January 2018 Events January 1 - 31 MFA STAR WARS AND THE POWER OF COSTUME Take a unique journey into the Star Wars universe as characters are brought to life through a dramatic presentation of more than 60 original costumes. Star Wars and the Power of Costume will closely examine the captivating process of costume design for iconic outfits featured in the first seven films of the Star Wars saga—from Queen Amidala’s lavish gowns to Darth Vader’s imposing black armor. costumes of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and more! Don’t miss your chance to see iconic figures from your favorite movies. January 1 OUTBACK BOWL AT RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM The Outback Bowl is a college football game that is typically played on New Year’s Day featuring teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference. The game is a culmination of a week-long schedule of events throughout the Tampa Bay. This year’s teams are the Michigan Wolverines and the South Caroline Gamecocks. January 2 CHILDREN’S BOARD OF HILLSBOROUGH FREE TUESDAY AT THE GLAZER CHILDREN’S MUSEUM The Children’s Board of Hillsborough proudly presents a Free Admission Tuesday program held on the first Tuesday of every month, between 12-7pm. Join us for free, family fun at the GCM.

January 3-31 MUTINY AT THE MUSEUM - GLAZER CHILDREN’S MUSEUM Arrgh you ready for a pirate invasion? All January, the Glazer Children’s Museum is celebrating Mutiny at the Museum, a nod to Tampa’s Gasparilla heritage filled with pirate-themed parades, treasure maps, great storytelling, and more. January 6 & 20 MFA MAKE & TAKE SATURDAYS Create your own masterpiece inspired by works in the collection and special exhibitions. Supplies are included. FREE with Museum admission. January 8-13, 15-20, 22-27, 29-31 REAL MUSIC REAL MASTERS - BUSCH GARDENS CONCERT SERIES The longest-running concert series at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay returns in January with incredible live music spanning from the 1950s to today, plus all-new entertainment including pop and country artists, a dazzling cirque show and a rhythmic Irish dance group. Live performances are scheduled Monday through Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the climatecontrolled Stanleyville Theater. There will also be an additional 3:30 p.m. show for Cirque Vertigo and Rhythm in the Night during the weeks that they perform.
