in the kitchen If you are planning a BBQ for the Fourth of July (or even if you aren’t), celebrate the U.S.A. with these delicious, festive, kid friendly pretzel snacks! Chocolate covered pretzels are great but when you add some red, white and blue they are awesome.

Firecracker Pretzels • 1 cup white chocolate chips • Shortening or vegetable oil (if needed)

• 1 12-ounce package pretzel rods • Red and blue sprinkles

1. Place chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. If chocolate is too thick, add a small amount of shortening or vegetable oil. 2. Dip each pretzel rod into the chocolate, coating about 2 to 3 inches. Roll in sprinkles to cover the tip. 3. Place on waxed paper until chocolate hardens.
