THE REGAL BEAGLE BAND RELEASES TWO NEW SINGLES TO TIE FANS OVER UNTIL THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM. DAVE LIDSTONE
alifax young guns, The Regal Beagle Band have been hard at ‘er, working on their newest recording effort with producer Jay Halliwell (Town Heroes) and are about to unleash their first full-length in the coming months. As a favor to their fans, the band is borrowing from the pages of rock ‘n roll bands gone by and releasing two separate singles today on Bandcamp.com. Neither single will appear on the new record, but both were recorded in two days at NSCC’s studios with engineer/ producer Callum Gaudet. The A side single, titled Ravine, is a violin-heavy mid-range rock tune with that folk-rock/east coast party feel you’d expect from the RBB. The call and answer between lead guitar breaks and Calen Kinney’s violin works on every level, adding spice and filling up gaps. The main riff is fresh and stylish
and comes full circle at the end of the track with a tight finish from each instrument. The B side, One Way Ticket, is David Myles with a looser rock feel. Upbeat and a bit “poppier” than some of their previous work, this track is a nice contrast to the A side single. Again, it’s hard to ignore the violin work, vocal harmonies and powerful rhythm dynamics; all defining elements in the RBB sound. Make sure to keep your ears open for these singles; they’ll definitely peak your RBB appetite and hold you off until the full-length is released.
