Siehst du Potenzial in dir als Person, die in der Öffentlichkeit steht, die viele Follower hat und medienwirksam agieren kann? Ich glaube, grundsätzlich haben alle Personen des öffentlichen Lebens mehr Möglichkeiten andere Leute zu erreichen als reine Privatpersonen. Letztlich hat jeder das Recht seine eigene Meinung zu haben und auch kundzutun. Ich bin der Meinung, dass man das dann trotzdem nicht zu populistisch formulieren sollte. Klar, kann sich jeder hinstellen und irgendwas propagieren, aber ich glaube schon, das sollte einen gewissen Rahmen halten. Ich habe in meinem Post auch extra versucht, niemanden direkt anzugreifen oder vor den Kopf zu stoßen, sondern ich wollte mein Gefühl, was ich beim Durchschauen der Ergebnisse hatte, zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Ich habe nicht einmal die AfD in irgendeiner Form in meinem Beitrag erwähnt. Das hätte ja theoretisch genauso gut

If I go and vote as a private person, I am still the football player. Additionally, social and political life is also reflected in sport, so it is impossible to separate them. Do you see some special potential in your role as a person of public life who has a lot of followers and can be seen in the media? I think that generally people of public life have better possibilities to reach others compared to people privately. In the end, everyone has the right to speak their own mind. But I still think it is unnecessary to express yourself in a very populist way. Of course, everyone can propagate something but in my opinion it should be done within reason. In the post I wrote, I really tried to not piss someone off, I just wanted to express my feelings that I had while watching the election results. I never even mentioned the AfD. So it could as well have been about the results of the NPD in Sachsen-Anhalt. That everyone directly associated my post to the AfD shows the general mood, they all knew what it was about, although it was not named in my post. In my opinion you should express yourself, you should push positive things but also name negative things to push people’s awareness. To me it is important to stand for what I think, even in public, without being populistic.

Ich glaube, dass es schwierig ist, da Privatperson und Sportler voneinander zu trennen. Wenn ich das auf meiner privaten Seite gepostet hätte und es hätte jemand mitbekommen von Presse oder Fans, dann wäre ich ja auch nicht nur als Privatperson auf den Post angesprochen worden, sondern als Person des öffentlichen Lebens. Ich glaube keinesfalls, dass Sport und Politik völlig getrennt sein können, weil ich der Meinung bin, jeder hat sein sportliches Interesse und sein politisches Interesse und das geht halt oft auch miteinander einher. Wenn ich als Privatperson wählen gehe, bin ich ja dennoch auch Sportler. Zudem bildet sich auch beim Sport gesellschaftliches und politisches Leben ab, so dass es nicht zu trennen ist.
