Inspiration for Life; Excellence in all we do

25th January 2013

Film Night Tonight screening Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days (U). See FroGS News for details. Dear Parents/Carers As you are aware on Monday 28th January, we will be visited by HMI (Her Majesty‟s Inspectors) who are visiting to see all the ideas and improvements we are putting into place in our school. We are really looking forward to showing them how we are moving our school forward and sharing our excitement about the future of Grendon School. Humility We have been exploring the value of humility in assembly this week, a difficult one to articulate to children. However, they are beginning to have an understanding that we can‟t be right all the time in life and also in our learning. Getting things wrong, making mistakes is part of growing and becoming successful, and accepting help from others is a big part of learning to be humble. Year 1 On Wednesday Year 1 had a very special day „Toy Story Day‟. We all dressed up as different toys, even Mrs Hawkin! Throughout the day we learned many new games including French skipping, Queenie Queenie, Duck Duck Goose, Mr. Crocodile and skipping with a big rope. We also had a catwalk to show off our outfits. Lots of pictures were taken which we will display soon. “It was great fun!” Robert Charlton “It was the best day ever.” Bea Greenfield Congratulations to everybody who was in the Golden Book this week: Ashton Rutland-Blackwell, Robert Charlton, Finn Baker, Thomas Eales, Jake Lynch, Aaron Rowe, Charlotte Yates, Mia Horton, Sophia Smith, Zadie Smith, Paul Clark, Joshua Tate, Anya Hedgecox, Caleb Beard, Kai Emmitt, Callum Lewsley, Finn Hudson, Ollie Fogden, Freya Turck, Poppy Forrest, Paul Groves, Jonas Houghton, Christopher Spear, Zac Rutland-Blackwell, Ryan Lambourne, Kai Emmitt, Katherine Rowles, Max O‟Brien and Owen Argent.
