Inspiration for Life; Excellence in all we do
5th October 2012
This Week The Reception class had an exciting trip to the Post Office this morning, where they posted a thank you letter to Waterperry Gardens for the apple and pear trees they donated. “The trees are really good and we saw loads of leaves on the way to the Post Office.” Christopher “We were saying thank you for the apple and pear trees- I absolutely love pears!” Finlay Yesterday, KS1 had a visit from the Police in their assembly, and they learned a lot about the job that the Police do. “We learned that the Police wear hard jackets so that they don’t get hurt. The Police in London also have some new hats because the other ones hurt when you run in them. They have big dogs that are trained to smell people and this helps the Police because they can follow the dogs.” Alfie “Some people were allowed to try on the hats. The policewomen who came to see us were really nice and they let us look at their car. The Police are nice because they help other people.” Xola “I don’t think I would want to be a policeman because the lights in the car made me jump!” Alfie Congratulations to everyone who was in the Golden Book this week: Tristan Hughes, Will Holman, Harry Dearn, Ronnie Bruder, Lauren Grenter, Jacob Manders, Tyrese Bennett and Amy Wilks. Next week The next 11+ test will be next Wednesday and we wish our Year 6’s the best of luck. Bikeability continues on Thursday from 12:30 – 1:30pm. Please encourage your child to get involved in Wake and Shake in the mornings at 8:50am- parents are always welcome to join in too! Wake and Shake is a great way for children (and adults) to start the daygiving us energy and getting our brains active for the day ahead. Joining in helps us feel part of the school community, prepares us for the rest of the day and makes us smile! FroGS News and Notices Last week we had our Macmillan Coffee morning and cake sale, and this raised a fantastic £190.45. You may remember that at the end of last academic year, our Year 1s (now Year 2s) held a fabulous cookie and milkshake sale, and they have decided to add the £70.25 they raised to the Macmillan donation as they think it is a great cause. This means we are donating a total of £260.70- thank you very much to everyone who donated cakes or came along to this event, and of course well done to Year 2 for their fantastic contribution.
Please donate any Nestle Box-Top tokens you may have to school- there is a collection box outside the staffroom and we are very grateful for your help.
