WHAT IS THE STAFF/STUDENT COUNSELLING SERVICE?
WHAT IF I AM BASED AT A REGIONAL CAMPUS?
The service provides an independent, confidential and professional counselling service to all staff and students.
WHO PAYS FOR THE SERVICE?
Relationships Australia is based in Albany but are willing to travel to Mount Barker, Denmark and Katanning when required. Phone 9845 7700, email  firstname.lastname@example.org or go to their website at www.wa.relationships.com.au.
There is no cost to employees/students for the first three visits. This is a benefit provided by the Great Southern Institute of Technology.
WHAT IF I NEED LEARNING SUPPORT?
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
The Disability Liaison Officer/Learning Support Coordinator provides information and advice, and coordinates individualised learning support for students with disability and medical conditions including people with mental health issues.
All it takes is one phone call. If you want to use the counselling service, you should phone and tell the receptionist that you are a staff or student from the institute, then arrange a suitable time to see a counsellor.
WHAT IF I NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE? If specialist counselling, medical or other services are needed, the counsellor will assist by finding a suitable practitioner and providing the necessary referrals. Costs in relation to specialist counselling or other services will be the responsibility of the employee/student.
STAFF/STUDENT COUNSELLING SERVICE
All enquiries are confidential. The Disability Liaison Officer is available at the Customer Services Centre, Albany campus, Mondays to Thursdays or phone 9892 8741. Regional students are encouraged to contact their campus coordinator or the Disability Liaison Officer to talk about their needs. Appointments can be made for regional campuses.
