The Basics of Music Theory and Ear Training
techniques of throwing pottery forms on the wheel, centering the ball, pulling cylinders, and handbuilding. More advanced students will work on more complex projects and we recommend that beginning pottery students take the Tuesday classes. Topics include pulling and attaching handles, sizing lids, applying glaze, firing, and more. A course in basic music theory that can serve high school students planning on majoring in music in college, or aspiring songwriters who need to understand how to properly write down their music. It can also help those trying to produce their own music by giving them the understanding of the basics of music. The ear-training component will help the student develop his or her most important assets – the ears. The course is offered online to fit everyone’s busy schedules and allow each student to work on his or her own time schedule. More information to come.

The Art of Calligraphy The evolving art form of calligraphy has been used since ancient times to give unique expressions of storytelling and script. Today we associate calligraphy as giving that extra special touch to invitations, poems, monograms and other writings worthy enough for framing. In this introductory course, the instructor will provide supplies on the first day, then will give a short list of optional supplies for the remaining sessions.
