Con el fin de arrojar luz al respecto, hemos entrevistado a Javier Martínez-Aldama, presidente de AEI Automoción La Rioja y CEO de Nidec Arisa, al frente del clúster desde 2020. / The industrial automotive sector in La Rioja is boosting its innovative strategy, creating an environment conducive to digitalisation projects, the proliferation of startups and closer connections with technology centres and universities. In order to shed light on this, we have interviewed Javier Martínez-Aldama, president of AEI Automoción La Rioja and CEO of Nidec Arisa, at the helm of the cluster since 2020. utoRevista- ¿Cuál es el posicionamiento actual del tejido riojano para responder a los retos de la transformación de la automoción y la movilidad? Javier Martínez-Aldama.- El cambio de paradigma relativo a la movilidad está provocando cambios radicales, no solo en el concepto de vehículo ligero, sino que está creando necesidades y expectativas diferentes en los individuos. El cambio normativo y la creación de opinión han provocado, y lo seguirán haciendo de una manera inexorable, una modificación drástica en los sistemas de propulsión tradicionales basados en las distintas soluciones del motor térmico de combustión. Estas modificaciones van a suponer, bien la desaparición de elementos o circuitos completos (tales como los bloques motor o los elementos del circuito de escape de gases), bien

utoRevista.- What is the current positioning of the Riojan fabric to respond to the challenges of the automotive and mobility transformation? Javier Martínez-Aldama.- The paradigm shift in mobility is causing radical changes, not only in the concept of the light vehicle, but is also creating different needs and expectations in individuals. Regulatory change and opinion-forming have caused, and will inexorably continue to cause, a drastic change in traditional propulsion systems based on the various combustion engine solutions. These modifications will mean either the disappearance of elements or complete circuits (such as engine blocks or exhaust circuit elements), or a drastic change in the raw materials and processes needed to manufacture their
