CRISTAL (NAHARON) Y ESCONDIDO (AZUL MAYA) - Crystal (Dark cave) and Hidden (Mayan blue) Ubicación: A 4 km al sur de Tulum, en dirección a Chetumal, km 224. Son 2 cenotes, el Cristal y el Escondido, uno en el lado derecho de la carretera y otro en el izquierdo, que se unen a través de un túnel bajo el agua. Forma parte del Sistema Naranjal, que es parte del Sistema Ox Bel Ha, el más grande del mundo de cuevas submarinas. Horario: 8 am a 5 pm diariamente. Amenidades: Baños y vestidores. Snorkeling: Sí, renta de equipo opcional $ 30 pesos. Buceo: Sí, buzo certificado o con guía. Costo de entrada: $ 50 general, buzos $ 150 pesos. Incluye entrada a Escondido, que se encuentra enfrente. Location: The place is located about 2 miles (4 km) south of Tulum, towards Chetumal in the Km 224. The cenotes are placed one on the right and the other on the left of the main road, and join through an underwater tunnel. They are part of the Sistema Naranjal which belongs to the “Ox Bel Ha” system, the largest underwater caves. Visiting hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm daily. Amenities: Restroom and changing rooms. Snorkeling: Yes, optional gear rent for $30 pesos Diving: Yes, just for certified divers or guided. Entrance fee: General $50 pesos, divers $150. It includes the entrance to “Escondido” (Hidden) located just in front.
Recomendaciones • Recommendations • No tocar nada de los fondos y paredes en la inmersión, y no usar cremas bronceadoras antes del baño ya que pueden llegar a contaminar gravemente las aguas cristalinas de los cenotes, aniquilando especies animales y vegetales que sólo se encuentran en ellos. • Llevar traje de baño, sandalias o tenis, toalla, repelente (biodegradable), playera y pantalón largo si va a caminar por la selva, y snorkel si no quiere rentarlo.
• It is recommended not to touch the bottom or the walls during the immersion. Also you cannot use sunscreen before getting into the water; the product may pollute seriously the crystalline water of the cenote killing its valuable animals and vegetation. • Don´t forget to take with you sandals or snickers, bathing suit, towel, biodegradable sunscreen, t-shirt and pants (in case you are going to walk through the jungle) and snorkel if you are not to rent one.
