For the avoidance of doubt, while on-site at the Host Facility, TOURdoes not require that spectators who have purchased distilled spirits or any other alcoholic beverages be confined to any particular area or venue while they consume such beverages. 3. Precautions For Distilled Spirits. 3.1 Server Training. Host Organization will require training for all servers of alcohol, to include the pouring protocols contained in this policy, guidance on stopping service to those who are obviously intoxicated, and any other topics required of alcohol service by applicable law or regulation. 3.2 Security. Host Organization will maintain the appropriate security onsite and at venues that serve alcohol. Further, Host Organization will submit
for approval a detailed security plan of actions to be implemented during tournament week to their TBA representative, six (6) months prior to Tournament Week. Among other things, the plan should provide for engaging security, medical or other personnel if someone becomes belligerent or is otherwise exhibiting unusual behavior. 3.3 Controlled Pouring. Host Organization will create and promote a “Drink Responsibly” campaign which includes messaging and branding on-site (i.e., pairing guide, video boards, bus loop videos, signs in bars, concession stands, etc.). Host Organization will do this in collaboration with its alcoholic beverage sponsor(s), if any. 4.2 Promotion of Safe Driving Options. Host Organization will develop a
proactive plan to promote safe driving for spectators leaving the Tournament (e.g., using designated drivers; taxi services, etc.). Host Organization will do this in collaboration with its alcoholic beverage sponsor(s), if any. 4.3 Submission of Plan to TOUR. Host Organization must submit its plans for the “Drink Responsibly” campaign and for the promotion of safe driving options to TOUR no less than ninety (90) days prior to Tournament Week. 5. Distilled Spirits Sponsorships (Maximum of Two Brands). Tournaments may give marketing exposure in connection with the Tournament to a maximum of two (2) distilled spirits brands; typically they will be the brands of one or two local market sponsors of the Tournament (each a “Spirits Sponsor Brand”). All distilled spirits sponsorships must be approved by TOUR in advance in accordance with Paragraph 7 below. 5.1 Title/Presenting Sponsors. Distilled spirits companies may not be title or presenting sponsors of PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, or Web.com Tour events that have any rounds of such events scheduled to be aired on network television. For PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, or Web. com Tour events that do not have
any rounds of such events scheduled to be aired on network television, on a case-by-case basis, by working closely with TOUR, a limited number of such events may be approved by TOUR to be sponsored (title and/or presenting) by distilled spirits companies. 5.2 Other Sponsorships. Distilled spirits companies may be local market sponsors of the Tournament, or title sponsors for pro-ams or other special events (except for youth or junior events). All exposure must be consistent with this policy. (a) Legitimate Apparel Businesses. Tournaments may enter into sponsorship contracts (including title sponsorship) with legitimate apparel businesses operated by distilled spirits companies, subject to the following limitations: i. Any signage for the apparel line must relate specifically to the apparel line (e.g., “Johnnie Walker Collection”, not “Johnnie Walker”). ii. All signage must be tasteful in size, frequency and location, as determined by PGA TOUR. 5.3 Designations. Distilled spirits sponsors may be granted an Official Designation and a Spirits Designation. “Official Designation” means “Official Sponsor [of the Tournament].” “Spirits Designation” means “Official Gin/Vodka/ Whiskey/Etc. [of the Tournament].”
The Official Designation is the primary designation for distilled spirits sponsors which should be used in all cases in which the Spirits Designation is not expressly allowed in this policy. The Spirits Designation may be used only as expressly permitted in this policy. 5.4 Branding for On-Site Locations. Except as otherwise approved in advanced by TOUR, Tournaments may have up to six (6) External locations serving distilled spirits on-site at the Tournament. Such External locations may be some combination of the following: (a) Branded Locations. Subject to the limitations set forth in this Paragraph 5.4, Tournaments may establish up to two (2) tents or locations branded with a Spirits Sponsor Brand (e.g., “ClubSpirit Sponsor Name or Grey Goose Lounge”). For the avoidance of doubt, if the Tournament has one (1) Spirits Sponsor Brand, such sponsor may have two (2) locations; if the Tournament has two (2) Spirits Sponsor Brand, each sponsor may have only one (1) location. Naming of such locations is governed by Paragraph 5.5. In addition, Paragraphs 2.2(a) and 6.1 govern branding and other aspects of such locations. (b) Restaurant Locations. Subject to the limitations set forth in this Paragraph 5.4, Tournaments may serve distilled spirits in up to two (2) External locations with table
service of food and/or other beverages. Such locations may: (i) be one (1) of the two (2) branded locations described in Paragraph 5.4(a) above and “presented” or “sponsored” (or similar designation) by a Spirits Sponsor Brand (e.g., “The Tilted Kilt sponsored by Grey Goose”); or (ii) if in addition to the two (2) branded locations described in Paragraph 5.4(a) above, be named/branded as a restaurant solely (e.g., “The Tilted Kilt”). Appropriate naming opportunities available to other sponsors are available also to distilled spirits. The corporate name or a brand name of the sponsor may be used, but not the type of distilled spirit product (e.g., “Grey Goose Pro-Am,” but not “Grey Goose Vodka Pro-Am”).
6. Exposure for Alcohol Brands. 6.1 Exposure Limitations Specific to Distilled Spirits. All onsite signage or other recognition for distilled spirits companies or brands must be placed entirely out of television camera range. (a) Branding – Internal. On (i) Internal materials, (ii) in Internal locations, and (iii) on the inside of Branded locations (Paragraph 5.4(a)) and Restaurant locations (Paragraph 5.4(b)), Tournaments may: (1) show Visual Depictions; and (2) use Spirits Designation. (b) Branding – External. On (i) External materials and (ii) External locations, Tournaments:(1) may not show Visual Depictions; (2) must always use Official Designation (not Spirit Designation); and (3) must use the brand of the product but not the particular type of distilled spirit product (e.g., “Grey Goose;” not “Grey Goose Vodka”, etc.). The External signage provided to distilled spirits companies must be reasonable and tasteful in size, frequency, location and overall presentation, as determined by TOUR. Inflatables are not permitted. range; putting/chipping green; and expo tents. Finally, all onsite signage for distilled spirits is subject to Sections 6.1(a) and (b). (d) Scoreboards/Videoboards. Host Organization may provide advertising to distilled spirits companies and brands and on videoboards as follows: i. Videoboards. Advertising on videoboards to distilled spirits companies and brands may be in the form of: (a) TOUR-approved advertising units (i.e., commercials during the telecast of the Tournament); and (b) messaging (without Video Depictions) promoting onsite External locations serving distilled spirits (e.g., “Come to Grey Goose Lounge”, provided that all such messages are in compliance with all applicable laws. Messaging on videoboards only may be shown on non-Competition days (i.e., Monday through Wednesday or Tuesday through Thursday, as applicable) if such videoboards are in unavoidable camera view (e.g., on the 18th green); if the videoboards are not in unavoidable camera view, such advertising may be displayed through the end of Competition. Videoboards showing the telecast of the Tournament (and, therefore, TOUR-approved ad units within such telecast) may be displayed through the end of Competition regardless of whether such videoboards are in unavoidable camera view or not.
ii. Scoreboards. Advertising on scoreboards to distilled spirits companies and brands may be in the form of TOUR-approved text messages. Messaging on scoreboards only shall be displayed on non-Competition days. (e) Television/Radio. Host Organization may not offer, sell, or provide any television or radio advertising or promotion during a Tournament broadcast or otherwise in connection with the Tournament for distilled spirits companies or brands. If a distilled spirits company is title sponsor of the Tournament in accordance with this policy, then TOUR will arrange for appropriate media exposure. Further, for the avoidance of doubt, the foregoing does not apply to TOUR-approved advertising purchased by TOUR’s OMP to be aired during the telecast of the Tournament. (f) Social Media. All exposure for distilled spirits brands on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) must comply with this policy and with the TOUR’s Social Media Guidelines (available upon request), and is subject to Sections 6.1(a) and (b). 6.2 Exposure Limitations That Apply to All Alcohol Products (i.e., distilled spirits and beer/wine/wine coolers). (a) On-site Visual Depictions of Alcohol Products. No External onsite Visual Depictions are allowed; subject only to the exception
described in Paragraph 6.1(d) regarding videoboards. 7. Prior Approval for All Distilled Spirits Sponsorships. Each sponsorship by a distilled spirits company or brand must be submitted to your Tournament Business Affairs representative for prior approval. During Tournament Week, Host Organization may be required to remove any such sponsorships not approved in advance. 8. TOUR’s Right to Modify This Policy. TOUR hereby reserves the right to modify this policy at any time on written notice; provided, however, that TOUR will use commercially reasonable efforts to not revise this policy during any PGA TOUR season. Such modifications could include, without limitation, a requirement that distilled spirits be sold and consumed within an enclosed area. As such, Host Organizations should account for potential policy changes in any sponsorship deal secured by Host Organization with alcoholic beverage sponsors. K
