GPL Reading Challenge Read one book a month based on a different theme. At the end of 2020 you could win a fabulous prize package. Learn more on page 9.

I Read Canadian Day The first ever I Read Canadian Day takes place on February 19. We challenge everyone to read a Canadian book in February and enter to win a prize package by telling us about the book you read.

Freedom to Read Week Freedom to Read Week encourages all Canadians to reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom. Join in by reading a banned book during the 2020 celebration: February 23 – 29. Need some reading inspiration? Check out our display at the library during this week, or ask at the front desk.

Death, Something to Talk About is an ongoing initiative of McNally House Hospice that encourages public conversation about death, dying, grief, and loss. McNally Book Bags support this initiative and are available at the Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln Public Libraries. The GPL’s bags have the following 3 titles:

I love volunteering my time to my community and to the library, which is such a pivotal part of a healthy and happy place to live and grow. In my professional life I am a Librarian so volunteering with our library is a perfect match! I am really proud of all the fantastic work that the staff at GPL do every day and how hard they work to ensure we have amazing library service and every one in our community is welcomed.
